The previous reviews which influenced our choice do not overstate the excellence of this choice for a fantastic break. The pool is beautiful and incredibly clean, the accommodation is excellent, light and airy, equipment is first class with tvs and dvd players in every room, and the wifi is fast and reliable. The layout of the accommodation with the second bedroom having its own independent access (and en suite) is perfect to allow another couple or older children a level of independence and privacy. The garden and patio are great for sunbathing and the owners Graham and Sabine will go out of their way to ensure you have everything you need. The location is perfect for sightseeing, shopping and wine buying and close enough to many nice places to spend an hour in the evenings or late afternoon having a beer/wine and watching the world go by (slowly). The village is also easy to get to from the motorway. Every detail on the listing is accurate and the information can be relied upon. We couldn't recommend this highly enough and to say anything more would be simply to repeat everything positive which has been said by previous reviewers. If it's the region you want to visit it's the place you'll want to stay. Simple as that.

“What a great holiday experience - two weeks at 4 Paws!”
Reviewed June 18, 2015 for a stay in June 2015

The scenery beyond the thoughtfully laid out and well-tended garden enjoyed from the apartment is just breathtaking. Set into a patio, furnished with loungers, is a beautifully maintained heated swimming pool, which can be enjoyed well into the evening in the enchantingly illuminated garden.
The incredibly warm welcome extended by Sabine and Graham is in tune with the thoughtful advance preparations (e.g. Welcome hamper) they make for their guests' arrival.. Throughout our holiday, we all four of us felt our enjoyment of it was their primary concern - from cheery greetings and conversations,to helpful advice on where to visit, to unexpected treats.
Who could fail to be impressed by such a relaxing, carefree, comfortable holiday in a stunning location with the most genial hosts, who quickly seemed like long-established friends? The weather was just perfect too, for sight-seeing or just enjoying lazy days by the pool.
All in all, a superb holiday experience.

“Great fun and great hosts”
Reviewed April 28, 2015 for a stay in April 2015

The setting is a delight, especially for people who love a great view and a fabulous garden. We found the place easily and were greeted with the best welcome pack I have ever had! Sabine and Graham were very helpful without being intrusive. They found, booked and chauffered us to a beautiful restaurant in the hills and one of the most delicious meals we have eaten in France.
Location very central for lovely towns and villages as well as the sea.
Finally, need to mention the many paws. The animals were not a nuisance and we loved having the option of a cat to cuddle!.

“Fab!”
Reviewed November 7, 2014 for a stay in October 2014

This was my second stay at 4 paws. It is a superb gîte, set in a manicured property with a stunning view and a good sized pool (heated in the summer season as required) - excellent value for money. This October we swam nearly every day. The internet connection with 4 of us up and running was high speed as well as being secured and independent of the main villa. The 3 rooms are roomy, tastefully decorated and comfortable but in summer it’s great to live outdoors, in the sun, and cook and eat in the secluded BBQ area. Since 2012 between my stays Sabine and Graham have continued to improve what was already a 5 * destination - more space, better equipped (notably the kitchen) and even greater attention to detail.

Should I have been surprised – no because they are profoundly generous hosts and fully achieve their aim of making you feel completely welcome and at home without being intrusive – probably a bit of a balancing act!

Reviews are just not my thing but I do read them frequently and 4 paws really merits being talked about. Time to spread the good news. This is a 5* choice.

“Affordable Luxury in the South of France”
Reviewed September 23, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

My fiance and I have recently returned from a wonderfully peaceful and relaxing stay at 4 Paws gite. It is simply stunning. From the moment you arrive you are filled with a sense of relaxation. The accommodation is like a home from home, with all that you may need. Everything provided, from the mattresses to the sun loungers is of the highest quality, as is the welcome hamper. It is immaculate and modern. Graham and Sabine really have thought of everything. The hosts are very welcoming and extremely knowledgeable about the local and surrounding areas and are on hand if you need them. The pool area is glorious and equipped with a bbq too. There are adorable dogs and cats on site which live in the top house, away from the self - contained gite.

The surrounding countryside and villages are beautiful with plenty of vineyards for those wanting to taste and buy local produce. The sea and its 10km beach is also only a thirty minute drive away. This is a great place to do as little or as much as you like.

It is very evident that a lot of work and love has gone into making the gite the glorious space that it is. It is everything it says it is and we cannot recommend it highly enough.

“A delightful stay”
Reviewed August 20, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Roujan a fairly quiet small town but with most amenities you are likely to need (eg chemist, boulangerie, supermarket, bars, restaurants.) However you are more likely to be attracted by the location, nestled between the coastal plane and the mountains (hills according to the locals) of the Massif Central. Car virtually essential but with the coast and mountains half an hour away and the towns/cities of Montpellier, Beziers, Meze etc less than an hour away your days need not be filled up by travelling. And the delightful historic town of Pezenas has an wide choice of restaurants and shops only 15 minutes away.

4-Paws accommodation is first class, spacious, freshly redecorated and equiped with all modern appliances. Although the two bedrooms are not connected they are both have bathroom/shower facilities so no problems overnight. Ideal for two couples. The pool and gardens are beautiful and essentially it is yours and no fighting over loungers. For those looking for a deep tan there is always a spot you can find in the direct rays around the pool as the sun tracks round during the day. And for those who like shade again no problem.

Our hosts, Sabine and Graham, were charming and helpful (in fact a virtual concierge service) but respectful of our privacy.

Don't overlook the blessing of the well stocked "Welcome Pack" which will get you through the Sunday in the likely event that the local SuperU is closed when you arrive (half-day closing on Sundays). Incidentally very impressed by the range and quality of the fresh food at this store.

In conclusion all very much as accurately described on the web site with no hidden unwelcome surprises.

“4 Paws...... 5Stars!!!!!”
Reviewed August 13, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

A garden of Eden without the snake!
The garden and pool were delightful and the accommodation very comfortable with everything you would ever need. Top quality air conditioning meant a good nights sleep, so important as plenty to do each day.
Graham and Sabine were the perfect hosts, there to help and advise without being intrusive. Their knowledge of local restaurants and vineyards was invaluable and we can highly recommend one that they kindly booked for us the L'Auberge Du Presbytere in Vailhan with its wonderful food and fantastic views. We will most certainly be returning to 4 Paws to enjoy another memorable stay.
