Our family (including 3 teenagers and a 10 year old) have just returned from a lovely week's holiday at this house.
Gerard, the host, was very helpful and friendly. Upon arrival he kindly greeted us with a welcome pack comprising bottles of wine, jams and fresh fruits from the garden. He also provided us with tourist information of places to visit.
The house was very clean, comfortable and well equipped including air conditioning, washing machine, drier, dishwasher, microwave, oven, flat screen TV, Wifi connection and a great shower . There were also games and toys for children
The kitchen, dining area and lounge were open plan and very spacious. There were 3 double bedrooms. Our bedroom on the ground floor had its own walk-in wardrobe, TV and opened out onto the garden/swimming pool area.
The main part of the garden was well maintained with a lovely terrace and dining area overlooking the pool. By the pool there were 3 sunbeds. It was quiet and very private. Although not an issue for us, the trampoline was out of commission during our stay as some of the springs had broken.
The house is situated on the outskirts of Rivesaltes and is a good base for touring the geographical and historical attractions in the area but you do need a car. There is an excellent shopping centre nearby and some good beaches such as Torreilles and Le Barcares. We had several day trips including Collioure, Argeles sur Mer, the festival at Perpignan, the Cathar castle of Peyrepertuse and we also popped over the Spanish border to the Salvador Dali museum at Figares. It was a fantastic break
For anyone planning to visit this area, I can definitely recommend this house as an ideal base.
