“The good life in Pezenas”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

I live 4 months of the year in Pezenas and know and love the Hotel Vigniamont. I also ALWASY book friends into this elegant hotel whenevery I can.
The building is history come alive, but a history full of great taste, style, and conveniences. It's nearly impossible to explain it as its wall speak of ancient adventures and climbing its interior steps, one feels in the company of the Three Muskateers.
It is very difficult to focus in on just exactly what would be the most important or charming aspect of the hotel, since the building's charm and beauty is surpassed by the charm and beauty of its owner Babette. She's a woman of great intelligence and talent, deeply warm and welcoming. Once one meets her, one will never forget her or her hospitality.
Don't miss the Friday night wine tastings, either.

This was a surprise stay for us (two couples) as a result of a wonderfully kind gesture. I can't really add anything to what has already been said in previous reviews. The hotel is absolutely delightful and and Babette's eye for detail in all respects i.e. decor and service enhances the whole experience. The hotel is quiet despite being only a few minutes walk from the old town with it's narrow streets, interesting shops and restaurants. We will treasure the memories and would advise anyone who want's to get away from it all but still be close to the centre of town, that this is the place to stay.

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent!

This is a very special hotel, located in the charming and interesting old town of Pezenas. The bedrooms, (beautifully furnished and decorated) are set around a courtyard, and the roof terrace is a wonderful place to relax and daydream. What makes this place so very wonderful is Babette, a truly kind, charming and generous hostess. The welcome is so warm, and the breakfasts and evening aperitif are stunning. The jams are homemade and lovely, the honey is local and the fruit was superb. Pezenas is a lovely town to wander around, and there are some beautiful visits close by, Babette recommended trips and restaurants that were well worth visiting. We love this place, and Babette and Phillipe are such charming and genuine people. Thank you from Elisabeth and Nick, Chris and Maria.

I consider myself to be well travelled and I ALWAYS refer to Tripadvisor before booking a holiday/hotel. I have never left a review but it was a must where Hotel Vigniamont is concerned. Everything about this hotel was just wonderful. The position, close to restaurants etc but very quiet. Service second to none. Nothing was too much trouble. Babette, the best hostess I have ever come across. The hotel itself is beautifully furnished. Each room has its' own individual style with lovely homely finishing touches. Breakfast was a delight, continental with home poached fruits and fresh croissants. A glass of wine on the terrace, just lovely! I never visit the same hotel twice, for the Vigniamont I will make an exception. The hotel is rated 1st out of 6 in the area. It would hold that position if there were 60! Don't look any further, just book!!

Having already had a lot of information about this place from a previous visitor, we went with very high expectations. The wonderful thing is that all our expectations were met, and some were greatly surpassed. Babette was a friendly, bubbly hostess who provided us with a lot of useful information about places to visit and things to do, once she realised that this was our first visit in the area. She provided wholesome breakfasts, and her wine tasting every evening was congenial, sometimes attracting not only the residents, but also some of her neighbours and friends, all with interesting information. She obviously took a lot of trouble preparing different canapes every evening. The hotel itself is in a 17th-18th Century building, about which there is useful information on the hotel web site.

Room Tip: A very quiet area. No air conditioning, no television: just tranquility and great ambiance. Great...

We didnt know Pezenas but loved both the area, the village and especially this neat hotel avec charme. Babette, the owner, has extremely useful suggestions, has made the hotel a very cosy place and has made our stay very pleasant. Breakfast is 5 stars. Its close to the beaches and the village is small enough to do everything on foot. Parking on the street is only 2 euros a day! We stayed with 2 small children in the big suite upstairs which connects to a nice terrace at the roof where you can leave some drinks and food in the fridge. All perfect. We were lucky to be there in august at a winetasting event in the village. A very entertaining evening having dinner and wines on the streets nearby the house. Dont miss this one!
