Perhaps it was because it was winter or may be it was because a dog next door scratched endlessly or may be even it was because the wifi was more out than in...but La Distillerie had the potential to be so much more. The location is great. Bed was comfortable. We were upgraded. But there was something missing. We would look elsewhere next time.

We spent a full week here. The conversation of the industrial premises as been completed to a high standard both in the rooms and the common parts. The standards of décor and comfort are high. Kitchenette facilities are available and the prices are reasonable. The room balconies are spacious. The external garden has strawberry and raspberries growing! The pool is small but adequate. The staff are first class with nothing too much trouble.

The breakfast is an adequate continental buffet, although expensive at 15 euros. We were never able to make the required booking of the bistro before 530 on a day of operation. However the town has a wide range of restaurants a couple of hundred yards away across the private footbridge over the river bed. See reviews.

The excellent, free WiFi in the rooms was appreciated but there was no operating English language TV. Even if restored, it would only extend to the international CNN and BBC World. When will European hoteliers provide an English channel?

Pezenas is a fascinating historic town with narrow streets lined with interesting buildings. It really deserves to be better known. It is also a fine centre for short road trips to the coast (Sete, Agde, Meze), the hills (Herault Gorge, Moureze) and the fine city of Montpellier. More ambitious trips are facilitated by excellent, fairly quiet motorways outside the town.

Both the hotel and its bistrot are very good.
Location is convenient with free parking; access to the city is easy with almost a private access over the little river.
The only negative points are the (lack of) comfort of the mattress and the lack of privacy when sitting on the balcony.

We recently stayed at La Distillerie and were very impressed with how well the renovation had been done and how comfortable and friendly it was.
The hotels location is great, just being a short walk to the town center and it has great facilities - although it is somewhat hidden away behind the main road, it's a gem when you find it.

Very comfortable and spacious rooms, well equipped and tastefully designed, with a balcony which is great for relaxing in the evening. A lot of money would appear to have been spent on this hotel and the others in the group look equally impressive.
It was certainly the best hotel that we encountered in Pezenas and I would thoroughly recommend it. It was also the sort of hotel that is good as a base for exploring an area - everything is on offer there, should you wish to use it.

The staff were also very friendly and attentive and this was very good value for money.

Short ways to the town centre, friendly people in the hotel and cosy rooms, very attractive equipped, that´s La Distillerie de Pezenas. We had a classic suite with balcony, looking to the nearby mountains. The quiet, specious room was equipped with a small kitchenette, pretty furniture included sofa and safe. Everything clean. A very nice stay!!

Tiny things could be improved, but overall, I could spend a long time here, very happily. Would like a few more pillows, for example, and the breakfast is nothing special, but overall, wonderful and relaxing. Town was wonderful on the weekend, and easy walk to explore everything. GM was just so friendly and helpful on our late arrival. Nice sized rooms and bed, rare in France.

My wife, son and myself shared a deluxe suite overlooking the hotel pool on the first floor with the benefit of a large terrace that included sun beds, chairs and table. The hotel is located a 5 minute walk from the town centre. Everything about our 4 night stay was outstanding from the moment we arrived. The accommodation was of an excellent size, the public rooms were beautifully furnished in a contemporary style. The breakfast was wonderful with a selection of cold meats, cheeses, cereals, boiled eggs, croissants, fresh fruits and other fresh breads and you can squeeze your own fresh orange juice. Breakfast can be taken either indoors or outside on the covered terrace. Although the swimming pool is small it is perfectly adequate, clean and well maintained and, rather surprisingly, was not used to its capacity with their being enough sun beds and parasols. We did not eat in the Bistro but the food that I saw being served looked delightful. The staff were very helpful with nothing being too much trouble. In fact, when we returned to the hotel either late at night or on one occasion at about 1am the car park was full but there was Alexandre Agop , the manager, to greet us, help us park in the car park and take our car keys from us until the following morning.

We cannot wait to return.

Room Tip: We had room 106 which overlooks the pool and has a larger terrace than some others
