My wife and i enjoyed 2 nights at Couvent des Ursulines. We are Inn-keepers ourselves (in Costa Rica), so we know what it takes to turn something old into something new. The transformation of this old Convent is amazing. It's location is perfect. Once we parked our car in the nearby lot, we never needed it for the few days we spent in Pezenas. Each day we walked the narrow streets and admired the architecture, the shops and the restaurants. Oh, and the local museum and library.
This Private, Secure, Walled- in Property has a beautiful history. Built in the early 1800's as a convent, it eventually was purchased by a private family...and now this large building has 5 or 6 3 story apartments that can accommodate from 1 to 6 people in each.
The delightful manager couple speaks French and English, and they are very friendly and personable. Their recommendations for restaurants was just perfect!!! And, they even gave us some ideas as to where we what we should see and where we might stop on our way to Northern Spain.
As for comfort...the well equipped kitchen had a gas stove and everything we needed to prepare meals..,oh, and very nice wine glasses!
I told my wife that I would return just to take another GREAT shower. I loved the pressure. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the first floor was open to a large dining table, couch and TV and WiFi. All the comforts of home...and then some. We even had our own private entrance with a little garden, and an outside area where we enjoyed eating breakfast. In addition to all this...they even have a walled-in private pool with great lounging chairs.
All in all...we loved the staff, the accommodation and the town. We took great photos in Pezenas, and loved Couvent des Ursulines and the wonderful town that surrounds it. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!!
p.s. I wrote a review the day after we departed Pezenas, but I guess it got lost. So, I'm so glad I got a chance to share our wonderful experience.
