On our last night cruising along the Canal du Midi, our hosts, Earl & Fiona of Barge Colibri, took us to dinner at this chateau converted to a hotel. The huge old stables have been turned in to a lovely rustic restaurant. Estate-grown red, white and rose are on every table as you arrive. Foie gras, smoked salmon, tiny snails in a spicy, oily tomato sauce, kidneys, beef & lamb cooked over an open grill, and goats cheese with honey were some of the highlights.

Dinner is just unbeatable value,
Comfortable rooms and great atmosphere. Shabby but clean and full of character.
Probably back next year again I'd guess.

Great hotel, great staff, fantastic food, Dinner is exceptional and well worth twice the price. Eat from the 45 euro inclusive menu, 6 courses incudes wine. Hotel is full of character (Don't expect a modern hotel). Its a bit out of town and sat nav would probably help. Breakfast was good. Didn't want to leave.

Booked 2 nights - extended it to 3! Lovely room despite the air-conditioning system being out of order and it was very hot! The pool is simply lovely - we had it to ourselves on several occasions even though it was August. Dining in the courtyard is a beautiful experience but unfortunately the food does not live up to it - some meals are good and some are poor. Breakfast is expensive but excellent - including clafoutis! Would stay again as despite the flaws it is just such a lovely place.

we visit this hotel a lot, in fact every year we spend two nights here. We do so as it really has everything we need and is a magical start to our holiday. It is approximately 5-10 mins outside Carcassonne so is in an ideal location. What we love are the following: the old buildings; the pool (one of our favourites in the south of France) and its garden; the food! The dinner each evening is incredible with multiple courses and three bottles of the estate-produced wine left on the table (red, white, rose....the red is the best but all are pleasant). The price for this feast is very reasonable and the quality is excellent. This is a perfect hotel if you want a multi-purpose getaway in the country-side. The only thing I would change is the fact that the staff are a bit impersonal.I do not get a friendly vibe off of the place which is a pity..... especialy for regulars like us! Leaving that aside, we would highly recommend this hotel
