“LOVELY RELAXING BREAK”
Reviewed August 22, 2017 for a stay in August 2017

We had a lovely stay at La Laiterie.
A quiet location, the small town of Descartes was nearby and worth a visit.
The owners were very helpful and welcoming.
We managed to get around the area, within an hour to the Loire Valley, Tours,
which is a beautiful city, recommend the Old Town and the modern shopping boulevard.
We also went to Chateau Chenonceau, expensive but a good day out.
Zoo Park and Futurascope, a theme park near Poitiers, no roller coasters or white knuckle stuff but really good 4d rides such as Ice Age and very enjoyable day out.
We would certainly visit again
Many thanks to Sue and Trevor.

“Lovely country home in a beautiful part of the Loire”
Reviewed August 1, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

Our family of 9 had a reunion at La Laiterie in jUly. The house is very comfortable and tastefully done. The surrounding environs are wonderful-lovely gardens and pool, although we had bad weather so were not able to enjoy the outside as much as we would have liked. Trevor and Sue are terrific hosts and we highly recommend this rental.

“beautiful place”
Reviewed July 30, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

Very nice, well equipment, gite in quiet surroundings. The place was very clean with a nice big garden and lovely swimming pool. There is plenty of parking space close to the gite. It was practically always possible to have breakfast and lunch/dinner outside thanks to the big table and party tent. The small town of Descartes is very close with the interesting museum of the filosopher and with all the shops and nice Sunday morning market. We made an easy canoe trip on the Creuse river and many famous chateau are within about one hour drive.

“A perfect holiday.”
Reviewed August 18, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

What a beautiful Gite with lovely gardens. Holidayed for a week at the beginning of August and really regretted not booking longer. Travelled with another family and the Gite was the perfect size for the 2 families. The rooms were large and very well equipped, with Trevor and Sue thinking of all the personal touches. The bedrooms were ideal with a quad room for the 3 teenage girls to share, a twin for the teenage boy and a double upstairs and downstairs. 2 large bathrooms with a hand and bath towel provided per person, and a separate WC in the utility. The kitchen was large enough for us all to be in there getting breakfast before taking it outside to the very well manicured and spacious private garden. We ate most meals out at the huge garden table in a very useful gazebo which has the benefit of fly nets that you can pull around it in the evenings. The 8 of us all enjoyed the very clean and well managed pool, inflatable pool toys were even provided for guests to use which gave us many laughs and great fun. Trevor and Sue are great hosts, quietly working behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly and always at hand to ask for tourist information advice. We were reluctant to leave the comfort of the gite but when we did, we would really recommend a visit to the town of Tours ( large town with lots of shops and restaurants), Loches and Amboise (beautiful towns with chateau's and lovely cafes), and if you have children, Futuroscope is well worth a day out. A theme park with with rides based on technology and 3D and 4D shows. Expensive admission (£118 for a family of 4) but worth it for younger and older children. The evening laser/water show was at 22.30 but worth staying for. The Chenonceau chateau is a stunning place and captures the image of a typical French chateau.
Although the Gite might seem a little remote as you drive past the corn fields to get to it, there is a small town with supermarkets only 5 minutes away. Every thing else is all within an hours car journey. Can't rate this Gite high enough. Everything is to a high standard in a lovely French style and we can't thank Trevor and Sue enough for making us all feel so welcome. We will definitely be returning.

“Our quiet get away place.”
Reviewed August 9, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We have stayed 3 times and have always been well looked after. There are plenty of sites and activities in the area of the Loire or just stay at the pool side at the gite. Trevor and Sue are are fantastic hosts. The holiday has been a little piece of heaven.

“Beautiful House and surrounds”
Reviewed July 21, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Spent a lovely fortnight with friends in this gorgeous Gite. Furnished and equipped to a very high standard, the gardens and pool area were also well kept with a lot of tlc by the owners. Trevor and Sue were very accommodating, moving one of the single beds from the "dorm" to one of the other rooms upstairs with the double room so that we could all have a single bed each (all female party). The house/garden was big enough that we could all find our own space if required and at the same time be part of the company when preparing meals in the kitchen etc. Descartes had a couple of supermarkets which were amply stocked with everything we needed. Lots to see and do close by and again the Gite is well provisioned with information of the area. We made good use of the pool during the few sunny days that we got and made best use of the overcast days by visiting some Chateaux and towns. Would like to have spent more time in Amboise which we visited briefly at the end of a busy day out.
The Gite has obviously been a labour of love for Trevor and Sue and it was perfect for our party for the 2 weeks.

“Best Gite we've had in France”
Reviewed June 24, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

As the title says this is the best place we've had in France. Trevor and Sue are wonderful hosts with great knowledge that should be utilised. The place has everything you need. Plenty of space for everyone and plenty of things to do. I.E. games, satellite, playsyation 2 and dvd. We had all ages and the place suited all types. Look at Lebouchet.com for more info. All I will say is that the pictures really do not do it justice. It is much better in real life.
They cater for everyone. Everything you need is here. They even provide the Vouvray wine. Nothing is too much. The pool and the grounds are well maintained and looked after along with the Gite ( obviously).
There are lots of great places of interest all within a hours journey from the gite. Again all information on these are provided. Trevor and Sue have forgot nothing here they can even provide wine tours. I would definitely book this again without hesitation. They even provide a 7 bedded place next door that has Disabled accessability
