We stayed in this chateau during a trip through France and were absolutely delighted by it. It is a bit difficult to find, but once you do, it is so worth it! The grounds surrouding the chateau are gorgeous, ranging from woods to gardens to ponds and fields, and the chateau itself is comfortable and welcoming. We really enjoyed talking to the staff, especially the owner, and taking in the grounds.

I recommend eating dinner at the chateau-the food is great, the service is terrific, and they were very accomodating to our specific food needs (vegetarian plus a food allergy). They rent bikes during the day; we weren't able to stay for more than one night, so we weren't able to ride around, but the surrounding area would be a lot of fun to explore.

My only negatives were the stairs and bed. I traveled with an aunt who had knee surgery and isn't terribly comfortable with stairs. One of the beds in our room wasn't the most comfortable bed I've slept on, but I still had a great night's sleep and delightful stay.

I would absolutely come back to this chateau!

We stayed for two nights on a round trip of the Loire Valley. We read all the reviews here ( put through Google translator) and really do not understand the poor comments. The Chateau is located in lovely grounds with a long drive through a wood. The pool is a good size and has changing rooms and toilets. Our room was a good size, nicely decorated and overlooked the gardens so ideal. Decent bathroom. At night, it was absolutely silent except for the owls hooting! I think the room cost was 140euros per night. Breakfast was extra, which is the norm in France.
We found the manager to be very friendly and he carried both large bags to the room.
The dining rooms and lounge room were nicely decorated. Breakfast was good with the usual croissants etc and mixed fruit, yogurt, cereal from a central buffet table. We only ate there one night, and took the 'menu' option with local wines included. The wine was excellent and flowed freely all evening. The meal was good quality and value considering the wine was included in the price. Staff were pleasant and 'announced' the courses when it was served.
There is an annex, looks like converted barn or stables, about 100m from the main house. This had a small pond out front and a field outlook.
All in all, a very enjoyable stay, and we would stay again.

What a wonderful surprise! We were unexpectedly delayed in the area and having seen some of the other reviews were not expecting too much from this hotel, which was conveniently located - but what a lovely surprise! The bedroom was spotless, the bathroom too, the park surrounding the chateau gave a wonderful peaceful atmosphere and best of all? The staff! Amazing what a difference it makes to be greeted by a broad smile, help with bags, a much needed drink on arrival and a charming owner and dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay for its peaceful and restful atmosphere, the helpful staff and owner and the tasty food in the restaurant. My husband also appreciated the free and unlimited wireless connection throughout the hotel. If you are sick of "faceless" chain hotels, try a few days at the chateau du breuil and revel in the atmosphere, the new owner certainly seems to have redressed any of the issues the previous reviewers found and we had a great time. Bike hire was free, and the many quiet lanes behind the Chateau encouraged us to enjoy biking for the first time in years - to be greeted by a refreshing and slightly chilled local wine on arrival was the icing on the cake! Give this one a try, would sum up our review.

We arrived at the chateau and were welcomed by the owners. The staff was polite and very friendly towards our small children. We stayed there a week and truly enjoyed the walk from the new rooms in the renovated barn to the chateau. Peace and quiet and the feel of living with 30 acres of land around you, fantastic! We dined there one night and it was a wonderful chef's menu, breakfast always included fresh croissants and bread and a pot of fresh coffee and tea. We will go back again.

Misled by the website. We were under the impression we would be staying in the actual Chateau. This was not the case. We checked in and were directed to our room in a converted barn approx 150 metres from the Chateau. The room was nice but when booking we were given no indication that we would not be staying in the main building. We raised this concern when checking out and were rudely told that the website is being updated. I have checked back and it is still not updated.

We were also told off by the owner for enjoying a bottle of wine in the park like grounds. He was annoyed that we had not bought the wine from him.

Overall it is a nice setting but we did not get what we payed for and never felt welcome.

Lovely situation but don't be misled by the expression 'overlooks the park'. We booked one of the prestige rooms at 185 euros a night (excluding tax and breakfast). Both prestige rooms we were shown had one window overlooking the courtyard area and the car park. Consequently it wasn't quiet either - people coming and going and children playing under the window. We did not accept the first room as it was very small and the bathroom was nothing to write home about. The room we ended up in had a decent bathroom but again was small. We had to ask for two comfortable chairs, although these were brought quickly and with very good grace. There was one wardrobe which had a couple of homemade shelves on one side - no other storage space and a small round table right in the corner between the two windows. We had to draw the curtains when we wanted to change as we could be seen from the car park and courtyard from both windows. There was a mini bar in the room but no other luxuries. Bathroom had the usual chain hotel tiny soap and mini bottles of shampoo/shower gel. The room was clean though. We only had dinner once at the hotel. There was no choice of menu and no choice of time. (We had picked a day when there were things on the menu that we liked. You had to turn up at about 8 oclock and the food was very, very disappointing). We thought it was very poor value for money & found another hotel to eat at which was very much better. Frankly, had we thought we could find somewhere else to stay at such short notice we would have done.
Having said that, the breakfast was very good on our first morning, it did start to slip but we only had to mention it to the owner and he made a point of ensuring that we had pain au chocolat included every day subsequently. The owner and his family were very friendly but we felt that it should be made clearer that there really aren't restaurant facilities. We also expected that a prestige room would provide one of the better views - it didn't! Maybe the lack of facilities might be ok for an overnight stay but otherwise we would not recommend this one.
