“Birthday meal”
Reviewed May 24, 2013

A great meal in comfortable and friendly surroundings. Marta was very helpful. It is not cheap but the old phrase is you get what you pay for and we were very satisfied. Three course meal preceeded by amuse bouche. Good choice of wines, especially local ones. Excellent fillet de boeuf. Finally crottin with cherry jam, which I had not heard of before, was superb. My wife really enjoyed her birthday.

“Superb French Cuisine Served With Excellent Customer Skills”
Reviewed July 15, 2012

Market day in Aubigny-sur-Nere is a busy time, and you build up a hunger walking through the streets. At lunchtime we were directed by a friend to this restaurant, and were met by mine host who was very friendly and attentive. After being served our aperitif and an amuse-bouche two of us opted for the fillet steak which was very reasonably priced. My friend likes his steak well done ( I am an "a point" man myself) which usually brings out a not entiely sympathetic reaction from French waiters. However, in this case the order was taken, a suggerstion made that the steak be sliced into three thinner slices which produced a well-done steak which still had flavour, texture and remained reasonably succulent.
Now I am not suggesting that you should only go to this restaurant if you like well done steaks. What I am saying is that the service is attentive and responsive to customer needs whilst not compromising on quality. A fairly rare quality and one to be savoured and appreciated.
The specials, particularly the duck, were of a high quality and enjoyed boy those who chose them.
All in all, an excellent dining experience with attentive staff, quality fare and reasonable prices.
