We were booked to stay at the sister Columbia Beach Hotel but found upon arrival that it was closed for refurbishment and we had been upgraded to an Executive Suite at the Resort to compensate. What wasn't there to like? Excellent facilities, the accommodation was first class, the staff extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. We were fortunate that during our stay the weather was unseasonably warm (an additional bonus). The breakfast and restaurant facilities are unsurpassed. We will certainly return to the Resort and wonder how the Hotel compares, given that the facilities of both are available to all guests. What we particularly like is the way the Resort treats their resident cats - they are well fed and housed, neutered and vaccinated, something never previously encountered in any previous holiday destinations.

Room Tip: Whether you choose a pool view or garden view is a matter of personal choice. Ours overlooked the ga...

The room was gorgeous and clean, very clean, absolutely fitting of the 5* rating. In a half empty hotel being placed next to a family with a screaming baby and 'vocal' toddler was annoying but not the hotel's fault. What was the hotel's fault was leaving the spa facilities open whilst having difficulties with power. Being sat in a Jacuzzi in the dark was ridiculous. In the hour or so we moved between Jacuzzi, indoor pool and sauna the lights must have gone off 12 times. My partner was also stranded in the shower in the pitch black. A health and safety nightmare and the staff were reluctant to make eye contact and outright ignored direct questions. Not good enough.

The cocktail bar was lovely, but we shared the experience of other reviewers in that in an empty bar the staff were hard to attract. We booked into the Apollo restaurant for evening meal and instead of being given a choice of main restaurant or bar area, were put straight in the empty bar area with noisy coffee machine and wobbly table. Subsequent guests were given a choice so we realised then the main restaurant with entertainment wasn't actually full. We asked to move and were greeted with a less than enthusiastic response. Not good enough. Same menu, same price, made to feel like an after thought. Food however was lovely, we had the meze for 2 and it was delicious.

Breakfast the next morning is my final gripe- CATS. There was even an article in the Columbia resort magazine about staff raising funds to care for them. In a 5* hotel you do NOT expect hoards of cats sitting under your table, on your feet, wailing at you whilst you eat. Inappropriate.

A gorgeous resort and I can only assume that off season certain staff don't apply the customer service generally expected in a resort of this nature.

Thank you for staying with us and for your review. Your comments have been duly noted and the relevant members of staff have been addressed. With regards to the cats and our Columbia Cat Care Project, we try very hard to inform guests that they should not be fed or encouraged at any of our restaurants, but they are very much loved by alot of our guests and so this can be difficult. We kindly request that you contact us directly to make your next booking.

We had a beautiful suite, the room and facilities were lovely.

The bar staff at the cocktail bar were very inattentive, and although there were no other customers, we had to chase them to be served, otherwise we'd still be sat outside waiting!

The spa was lovely, although our massages were slightly spoiled by the sound of a persistent screaming baby. Surprised the staff didn't politely ask the parents to move on..a spa hardly being the place to bring a baby..!!

Other than those few gripes, it really was lovely and I would recommend anyone to go..

Stayed at hotel jan 25th for 4 nights half board basis, I had already booked an executive suite but when we arrived we were given a lovely surprise by being upgraded to a panoramic suite which was stunning .

The room was massive with a lovely bathroom and small tea/coffee making facilities which were topped up daily as well as all the molten brown products in bathroom.

Food was fabulous and champagne and straws with brekkie was a very nice touch.
All choices at brekkie hot and cold .
Being half board we thought there would be a separate menu that maybe you have maybe a few choices for your main meal but not in this hotel you can have whatever you want over three courses and the food is beautiful .

Spa great for those chilly winter days and jacuzzi nice to relax and soothe your body .
Very we'll furnished hotel and we'll thought out .
If you are young and fit the walk back and forth to panoramic suites would be ok but for us bamboss who drove the wee buggy was a godsend ferrying us up and down the hill with a smile everyday.

Suggestions = coasters in rooms to save ring marks on furniture.
TV cabinet to be able to turn slightly to enable watching of
TV in bed ( perhaps on wheels) ?
When 2 single beds are put together as a double they
Should be clipped together so they can't separate as this
Did happen to us and hubby fell through middle ,no harm
Done but maybe if elderly ppl would be a problem ?

I hope to return to this beautiful hotel later in the year if I get as good a deal as before .

I stayed here November 2013 into December 2013 with my fiancé and our daughter. It was the first time we had been to Cyprus on a family holiday and we weren't disappointed.

The lobby of the hotel is inviting, with an outstanding view of the chalet style rooms, pool, gardens and the sea. The reception staff were unbelievably helpful, we checked in whilst sitting down in a comfy sofa whilst being offered a complimentary cocktail! How wonderful.

Our luggage was taken to the room by mini-buggy along with the 3 of us, by a very knowledgable driver. Was asked about the area, dining in or out, shopping, sightseeing and more, he helped us no end.

We opened the door to our fabulous suite, with a special bed for our 2-yr old who didn't want her own room. We looked out onto the toddler pool, which was perfect, we couldn't have been better placed.

Our bathroom had stunning Molton Brown products, which were replenished every day. There was music pumped into the bathroom, the largest bath I've ever seen, a power shower, 2 sinks, countless towels and lots of little novel treats.

Our room had a fully stocked fridge, we also had complimentary water, complimentary chocolates, and a complementary bottle of local liquor - all fabulous little touches. Our kingsize bed was extremely comfortable with a turndown service every evening and pillow chocolates, the TV was nestled into the wardrobe & drawers, the living area had a sofa, 2 comfy chairs & table, there was a full length mirror, a room service option and a laundry service which we used.

We went for a look around the hotel and grounds. We found everything we needed to keep our little one happy with play areas and such, there are a couple of outstanding looking restaurants, and a poolside bar perfect for my fiancé to grab a lunchtime beer.

We dined in both restaurants and weren't disappointed with either, the typically Cypriot restaurant had live music each night, they catered for our daughter and the food was excellent. The Italian Baccus was outstanding, the food was good enough to rival a michelin star spot.

Breakfast was on another level brilliant, with choices of at least 10 kinds of breads and pastries, fresh fruit in abundance, yogurts, a cheese counter which beggars belief, an Egg chef, pancakes and waffles, hot food (beans, mushrooms, sausages, bacon, haloumi cheese, potatoes & more) plus champagne with strawberries - all included in the price. Absolutely delicious, vast and varied choice, freshly cooked, great start the day. We looked forward to breakfast eau and every morning.

We used all the facilities during our 8-day stay, both pools (toddler and adult), Spa treatments, children's play area, the beach, sun loungers, reception toilets, the designer clothes shop, both restaurants, and the bar. We found everything to be truly 5*.

We hired a car to see the rest of Cyprus, but relished in the thought of returning to our hotel each day.

We will return sometime in the near future to this wonderful resort.
A little treasure.

Room Tip: If you have young children ask for the garden or sea view rooms onto the toddler pool.

We have just spent a week at this superb hotel. Our room & all the facilities were of the highest order, but the most outstanding feature was the friendly helpful manner of all the staff. We were on a great value half board deal and often that means a restricted menu, far from that we had full a la carte choice which was also excellent. The location at Pissouri bay is nice & quite private, a hire car is essential for any exploring. We would stay again & recommend to friends without hesitation.

Room Tip: We had a junior suite, garden facing, very spacious & quiet.
