We first visited Pizza Rado six years ago and have been on numerous occasions since then, always making at least one visit during our holidays in Varna, this summer though, we ended up dining there three times in our fourteen days, despite the fact there are many good restaurants in the city. Although best known for the quality of the pizza, and make no mistake, the pizza here matches up to any we've ever had in Italy, they are fantastic, lovely thin bases and perfect toppings, but the rest of the menu is fantastic quality too, my personal favourites are the ravioli and the spaghetti vongole, unfortunately didn't notice the saltimbocca this year.
The starters/first courses are lovely too, but generally we go for something light like the bruschetta which are simple but delightful, honestly i really can't fault this place, we've only ever been in the summertime and the restaurant has always been busy and if we'd went later in the evening then i think a reservation would have been nessesary.
Can't review Rados without giving a mention to the Dessert menu, standard stuff really, but the Nuttella pizza is simply wonderful, don't think i've ever seen my son looking so happy as when he's getting tore into one them.
Must say that we've always found the staff to be professional, polite and helpful but not intrusive, just the way i like it to be.
If i had to try and find a fault it would be the practice of taking your wine bottle from your table and bringing it over and filling your glass then taking it away again, i've seen this done in other places too, but i'd prefer the bottle to stay on my table, other than that i'd really have to say if you are ever in this superb city, give Pizzarado a go, in my opinion it's still the best around.
