Lovely casual meal. Attentive service, great Thai food (some of the best I've had in Perth), reasonable prices and BYO wine and beer...what more could you ask for?! We'll be back for sure and would definitely recommend!

If you love a deliciously tasty meal - then treat yourself to this restaurant. The acoustics are terrible and the restaurant premises are very average but the food makes up for it. And a big bonus is it is BYO so you can get a nice bottle of wine from the liquor store across the road and not have to pay extortionate restaurant prices for a cheap bottle of wine. Treat your taste buds and dine here - the food will not let you down!

Tried a few restaurants tonight and with it being a bank holiday thought we'd try a thai as its been ages. Well we were highly delighted with this place...we ordered Tamerind Prawn and Jungle Curry...WOW they were both delicious had a side of special fried rice...we both were bursting at the seams and there was till a container full for hubbies lunch tomorrow.
Its a BYO and with bottle shop being next door we just popped it and chose a lovely bottle of Happs. The price was $50...a bargain...will deffinatly be back.

Although the restaurant - or 'Rstaurant' as stated in the Tripadvisor official name - markets itself as Thai, it is broader than this offering dishes from a number of eastern cuisines; however, Thai cuisine dominates the menu.

If you ever get chance to have Chef, Steven, tell his life story and how he ended up as a restaurateur in Perth, grasp the opportunity with both hands and prepare for an epic tale suitable for take-up by the best Hollywood film makers. Unlike the restaurant name's reference to Thailand, he hails from Cambodia.

Anyhow, back to the restaurant. The facilities are basic but clean and the serving staff are attentive. It's a BYO (bring your own) type which I always like as many restaurants do not have a clue about the wine list. It's also good because, within 20 metres, there's a 'bottle shop' - liquor store to Americans, off-license to the Brits and a hundred other things to a hundred other countries.

I've eaten there a number of times with family and each time has been a really positive experience. The food is very loyal to its roots and Chef doesn't 'pull the punches' by diluting the authenticity of the dish by toning things down. This is a reference to the heat in dishes containing chilli and other ingredients which are authentically hot ... as they should be. Having tried a lot of dishes from the menu, I thoroughly recommend a visit or, if you must, grab a take away meal. Watch the portions though - Western Australia, like the USA, has lost any notion of 'portion control' and I've had to box up the left-overs to take home on every visit. The upside is that many meals are better having spent the night 'fermenting' in a fridge and you end up with an unexpected free lunch!

If there's downside to the restaurant, it's the ambience brought about by a lack of diners. I cannot work this one out. I've eaten in many places in Perth, this one is amongst the best for what it does - genuinely great Asian food at reasonable prices. I can only imagine the rise in house builders providing 'theatre rooms' is another encouragement to choose the take-away option. In my view, good good should be taken with good wine, good company, good conversation sprinkled with a healthy measure of laughter; TV's should be elsewhere.

My advice is get out of the 'lazy boy' armchair, hop in the car and get down there.
