This is a great family ski area at a reasonable price (about 20 euros half day) and VERY pretty. Mostly intermediate runs, but one advanced run up top. Well groomed slopes. Two long lifts (maybe 2k's each), one bottom, one top. Cheap hot dog lunch at snack bar under red awning across street from base. Tabogon run on bottom half is lots of fun. Night skiing on Wednesday night. Stayed at Haus De Lebens across the street from mountain base. Alpine Coaster closed because of snow.

Fly to Munch, Ryanair (cheap) travel over the mountains by Train to the Tyrol Valley. Find a nice Guest House near Imst. We stayed in Pension Albert in Unhausen. Spend your days walking in the Mountains, Swimming in natural lakes, building Dams, finding waterfalls. Go to Imst, walk up the beautiful but scary Gorge, spend a day speeding down a mountain on the Alpine Coaster. Heaven!

I was literally looking for "fun" things to do on a road trip through the area, and this came up as a perfect fit. It's worth the ride up the ski lift for the scenery itself, and the cafe/restaurant at the top made for one of the most scenic lunches I've ever had.

The alpine coaster itself was great fun, and I'd recommend it for anyone of any age. It is a long ride, long enough for it not to matter too much in the times you get caught behind slow riders ahead. You can go as fast or as slow as you like (but not too slow, for the sake of those behind you), and you'll step off wanting another go!

Definitely worth a visit.

This is the best invention ever and a must-do for anyone staying in the area. We managed three rides in less than 2 hours and had a blast. The ski-lift ride up was also a beautiful bonus treat.

In the ad they say it is the longest alpine coaster in the world - and we were not disappointed. The coaster is really long and a lot of fun for the whole family. I took a ride with our teenage daughter but there were also a lot of familes with smaller children. You decided how fast you go downhill and that makes it easy for everyone to enjoy the ride. It's not cheap if you want to go with the whole family but it's worth it. Check the website first to make sure they are open, especially during low season
