Description: We are a simple, friendly, family run budget-style guesthouse with only eight twin or double bed rooms. One room of three single beds. No dormitories. We have our own restaurant offering both Thai and Western food. Our public bar is popular with travelers and locals alike, well stocked with extremely cold beer and specialty cocktails. We help with the full range of travel advice and ticketing. The English owner has lived locally and on the islands for nearly fifteen years so is very well connected with many dive shops and resorts on all islands, particularly Koh Tao where he still spends a lot of time to keep information up to date.

Ivor, the owner, gave us plenty of information regarding travel to the islands which was very helpful indeed. We had dinner there which turned out to be the best Massaman Curry in Thailand!
Highly recommend this bar; be it for a drink, food or a bed for the night.

Thank matt G

As a bar it is ok but the food leaves much to be desired. Very average food and the bar was actually quite empty during our visit.

After following the reviews on here. I came here for dinner. We were very disappointed. The atmosphere was depressing. The music consisted mainly of Thai ballads.

The staff speak poor English, another disappointment for a "foreign bar". The food came sporadically. They can only cook one dish at a time.

The food leaves little to be desired. They brought the wrong food and told us it was us who ordered it. After complaining, to the owner, it was taken off the bill because it was indelible.

If this place is going to improve it needs to rethink the three cardinal rules of a good restaurant; service, atmosphere, and food.

We found a nice gap in the rain yesterday so decided to go for a bike ride around Chumphon then stopped here for lunch around 1.30. The service was terrible, comedy fawlty towers bad. We tried to order 1 beer and a lemonade but got 1 beer and an apple juice, I then ordered another "Sprite" with ice hoping this would help but got a bottle of sprite with a straw. I asked for a hamburger with cheese and got served a cheese baguette and my wife asked for another apple juice which the lady smiled and checked it was just one we wanted so we said yes and then she just walked back to the bar, sat down and continued her chat with the other lady working there. It really did feel like we were putting them out by ordering food and drink.

I know people will jump on this and say "breakdown in communication" but rude is rude in any language and if you call yourself the bar for "foreigners" then please have the ability to serve them.

The second point was for the burger which was pretty good and for having HP sauce which was a pleasant surprise
