After a busy training in Bangkok and a relaxing week in Koh Tao, me and wifey stayed at this resort for a stopover. The resort is relaxed...not luxury....but is very comfortable and cozy...we had the deluxe villa... for $ 40 ...after experiencing Bangkok and Koh Tao...this seemed like a bargain...this is obviously because Chumphon is not a hub for tourists...the town does not even have a cinema...but..as the friendly staff at this resort gave us complimentary bicycles to explore town..i discovered that this was the most "Thai" experienced i had ever had...Bangkok is crazy...and while Koh Tao is beautiful and relaxed...many businesses there are run by foreigners catering to foreigners...that is all cool...but gets a little boring....Chumphon was real Thailand and i liked it...Papa Seafood by the train station is great along with the cheesy local middle aged musicians playing Thai pop songs of old..anyhow back to the Chalicha resort...i like it and next time would love to spend more time here...:)

Room tip: Deluxe villa..its like a little cottage

We stayed only one night, because we had to stay a night in Chumphon to catch our flight to Bangkok the next morning.
The truth is that I don't think there's any other reason to stay in Chumphon; it seemed like a pretty boring city.

However, the Chalicha Resort was amazing.
Huge, clean rooms that must have been built within the last 3 years. The best shower I've had so far in Thailand (warm water and strong water pressure) and a very nice pool. There were many other details, like the free bicycles.

All that for 1000 Baht per night was a steal.

The only con was the English of the staff. While trying to be helpful, even simple questions couldn't be answered.

A nice hotel at a good price, very spacious rooms, very new a great room and a decent cafe with an espresso machine. There are some nice restaurants of you go out of the hotel turn right and then right again at the end of the street. We only stayed one night on our way to koh tao but i would definitely stay again if I'm ever in chumphon.

We stayed in a Deluxe room in the Main Building for 800,- THB a night (no breakfast). Very big and new rooms with a large and comfortable bed. Everything Clean and modern. 4 Star quality.

Unfortunately they let Local Thai people swim in their small swimming pool for a fee of 50 THB per Person. So it can be a bit noisy until 11pm if you stay in the Main Building. If you stay in one of their bungalows it should be no problem at all.

Very good Wifi Internet connection (Thai Standard) for free and also free parking directly at the Main Building or in front of their bungalows.

When we left we saw the breakfast which they are serving. Nothing worth to mention. Wouldn`t book it. Very limited choice. But if you have no car you would have no other option to get food in the morning.

There is no real Restaurant (just a sort of a Coffe Shop) in this Resort, but 5 minutes away by feet a really nice one. The name is "3 Coins". Turn right out of the Resort and the next road turn right again. About 300m on the left side of the road you will find this Restaurant. Great atmosphere with live music at a River Side and good and cheap Thai Food. Also good for families with children.

I would always stay again at this Resort. The price is unbeatable for what you get. I believe the best choice in Chumphon.

Room tip: Would book a bungalow on my next stay.

One of my favourite hotels in Thailand! AWESOME rooms with a HUGE bathtub and an amazing outside shower. Nice bedroom and really nice staff. Also a lot of extras like a the pool, free bicycle rental and pick up from the pier for a really good price! Loved it here and would definately come again..really nice hotel for a good price, including breakfast!
