“Well priced”
Reviewed May 25, 2013

Located in Chumphon city center.

Well priced, helpful staff, good sized rooms, yet looking and old and tired, but clean.

Perfect for a one night stay.

Buffet stay breakfast, good selection.

Beds rock hard. (coconut Husk filled)

Free Wifi.

Room Tip: Good stop over after travelling to Koh Tao.

Happenned to go to the South of Thailand and stayed here for one night, I must say that this hotel offers good room and service for a very low price. I stayed in the new wing so the room was stil very new. Relatively big room with big bed. Conveniently located in the central district close to the market and tour bus station. So, if you are looking for a good, clean hotel for a low cost, I recommmend this one.

Stopped here to break up a road trip from bangkok to phuket. very reasonable priced hotel close to city centre.rooms are of average standard, and the bathroom in particular i s in need of an upgrade. overall cheap and all you need for an overnight or one/two day stay. any longer would look for better.

Room Tip: Shopping Tip: Walking distance from many amenities

I arrived the hotel at 8 p.m. The check-in process is quick. The room is nice, worth for the price (i got a very good offer by contacting directly to the hotel, not via any website). The hotel has two buildings, offering free wi-fi. Even the elevator is quite smelly, all in all is satisfactory.

The hotel is in a walking distance to Padthai Road and the only shopping mall in the city, The Ocean.

For those who want to travel to a pier to Koh Tao, you can check with your carrier if they can arrange a pick up service. For my case, the boat company i booked has the service with 50 Bath charged. Reservation has to be confirmed directly with your boat company.

Still a great hotel for transit to other destinations. We stayed here 2 years ago and again in March 2012. Modern and clean. The hotel is very busy for Thai business and weddings. Not all staff speak Engish but there is usually someone around that can help. Buffet breakfast included in very reasonable room rate.

For people taking boats to visit the crowded islands of Koh Tao and Koh Panghan, Chumphon is the best option for the pier to take the boat (located 20 km for the city center). Nanaburi is a hotel located on the city center (Lomprayah will pick you up for free at your hotel if they are told in advance).

Hotel is cheap (we paid 20€ per room), clean, there is a new building, personnel is not speaking very good English, but they are helpful and nice and even gave us some drinks and sandwiches at 6 AM because we could not take the breakfast. It is walking distance for the markets and the main restaurants, like Papa Seafood.

Papa Seafood restaurant has fresh sea food, although cooked very blandly, I think they must wash them under tap water, they are not very tasty, and the concept of sauce did not occur to them (unless you want to try the Thai chili sauces… ;-)). The main issue with this restaurant though is the live music, literally deafening. On the streets from Nanaburi to Papa Seafood, there are many canteens on the street, where food looked delicious and was very cheap. Probably a good alternative to the noisy Papa.

After missing our bus from Chumphon to Khao Sok we decided to stay the night there. There aren't really many great hotels in Chumphon but the travel agency gave us the address for Nanaburi and we checked it out. It was only built a couple if years ago and is an excellent place to stay whilst waiting for the boat to Ko Samui or a bus back towards Phuket. It cost 700 Baht per night, a bargain for 2 people. It seemed to be a place where Thai business men and women stay and no-one really spoke English, however, everyone was very friendly and did laundry for us for almost nothing. A comfortable place to stay although Chumphon itself is not that exciting.
