Location-wise, this hotel can't be beat. This is unfortunate, because just about every other aspect of the Janfusun Royal Prince is sub-par. The room we stayed in was smallish, and had a lingering cigarette smell. But what made this trip special was the staggeringly awful level of service this hotel offered us. Prior to leaving Taipei, we made sure to book the hotel's shuttle from the nearby Douliu train station. We called again to confirm from the train, and yet again as we arrived at the station. Somehow, we were still neglected and left to sit on the station steps for over an hour while the hotel arranged transportation. When we finally checked in, the combative receptionist never apologized for the mix-up. Ultimately, we spoke to the manager on duty who condescendingly gave us two vouchers for a cup of coffee in the hotel lounge. They expired that same day.
If you're in town to go to the theme park (and there would be no reason to consider this hotel otherwise), you will still be better off staying in one of the more-affordable hotels in Douliu and taking the short taxi ride to the park in the morning. It sure would have saved us a lot of time and hassle.More
