We stayed at this guesthouse for 3 Nights and we really enjoyed our Time here.
The Family is very hospitable and friendly.
They eben picked us up at the railway station, what we didn't expect at all and what was very kind.
We also took Ashoka's cooking class in her kitchen and she showed us how to cook different Sri lankan curries. It was the best meal we had in Sri Lanka
So far.
If You have a special wish, for example massage, sightseeing Tours or typical Meals, you can always ask for it and Ashoka is pleased to satisfy all your wishes.
The rooms are very clean and tidy, there is a
Mosquito net and Hot water.
We Can really recommend this homestay in ella, We had a Great time at this place!

I stayed for 4 Nights at Rock Face. The Family is very kind and helpfull. Defenitly try the homecooked Food, the curry will might be one of the best you eat in Sri Lanka.
It is a quiet Place with a nice Garden, overlooking Ella. The Rooms are clean and have warm water. Highly recomended place

This guest house is run by a very nice family. They picked us up at the main street from where we had to go up about a hundred steps. We had an excellent dinner consisting of different sri lankian style curries and very tasty pancakes for breakfast. Highly recommended.

From the busy main road you have to climb up a few minutes - but it's definitely worth it! We loved staying in the cozy room with a terrace where you can enjoy delicious breakfast and dinner. Ashoka is a great cook and very helpful and kind! Fully recommended, next time we'll be here again.

This place is accessed at the steps to the right of the "boc" ATM on the Main Street of Ella at the bottom end of town ( opposite end to the railway station).

The rooms ( of which there are only 2 at the time of writing) are clean and comfortable. The hot water is accessed through a separate shower head and it runs only to a drip which was a bit disappointing. There is the square type mosquito net which is a plus. We did not try the food as we thought it was rather expensive for local fair which can be purchased at a rotti shop in town a short walk away for about half the price!

The lady running the place approached us and agreed 1000 for single and 1200 for a double after I asked for a discount on her original offer. It really depends how. Busy she is to the price you get.

Worryingly she tried to get us to leave when she got a booking from another tourist the second day ( clearly who offered more) when we had from the start agreed with her to stay 2 nights.

This was rather embarrassingly sorted out by a small confrontation on the issue and a polite reminder of her agreement when she first met us to allow our stay for two nights. This is the reason for poor on service. We thought this a bit dishonest and rude....we felt unwelcome after this.

It is a trek up so be ready for this and a little dangerous if you carry heavy baggage/ are not so good on your feet as the path is unmade.

Room Tip: Bargain with her for the price of the room. Eat out if on a budget although mate the food is lovely...

You won't find this excellent place unless you know about it, and word travels fast, so be sure to seek it out! Two fantastic rooms at a good price, high on a hill overlooking Ella's main street. It is peaceful, clean, and had delicious home cooked Sri Lankan meals - what a gem this place is!!

Found this place following a recommendation from two Dutch travellers. The place is a real home from home and the owner, Ashoka & her two daughters make you feel part of the family with a very warm Sri Lankan welcome. The views are stunning, little Adams Peak is right in front of you from the time you wake until sundown...and then there's the home made meals - one word Delicious!

Room Tip: Only two rooms available, one double & a twin.
