We were recommended another hotel at our stay in Dumaguete. We walked in and walked out again.
We then came to this place, beautiful large room with a beautiful view.
Very happy he stayed here instead. Want to return

Room Tip: Cafes along the boulevard during the weekend look very promising

When we started planning our trip to Dumaguete, we thought of getting a hotel closer to the airport. But a friend suggested that we book a hotel along Rizal Blvd. La Residencia Al Mar has great location, right along Rizal Blvd. If you are coming from the Dumaguete Port, the hotel is within walking distance or a very short pedicab ride away. We got the family room, which had a queen bed and a single bed. Pretty basic room - TV, phone and small ref. Wi-Fi is free and quite fast.

From the hotel, we walked to the major sights of Dumaguete - Quezon Park, Cathedral of St. Catherine of Alexandria, Dumaguete Belfry, Rizal Blvd., Silliman University, Sans Rival Bistro. If you need a ride, there are many pedicabs around.

La Residencia Almar is perfectly located on the boulevard offering sea views if you score a room in the front. We were lucky enough to have scored one of these while our friend had a room with no windows. Room was very small but nicely fitted. Bathroom ample space with rain shower and hot water. Outside dinning area was great for cold beers and people watching. Breakfast was at most fair.

Room Tip: Front rooms are small but offer sea views

La Residencia Almar is a small hotel that gives you good value for your money. The hotel has been newly renovated. It provides good service with the staff being very friendly and always try to accommodate whatever little requests. Best of all is its located at Dumaguete's happening place - the Rizal Boulevard.

I always go back to this hotel every time I'm in Dumaguete which is like every month. We have also conducted a 3-day workshop here and the food were superb.

Room Tip: This hotel has only 17 rooms. The best rooms maybe those fronting the boulevard but if you are real...

Staying there a month for biz
Small hotel, old house converted to about 10 hotel rooms. It's right on the boulevard, so it can be loud if there's a parade (and there's always a parade, there' must be 72 holidays in the Philippines). Clean, well-kept, and the staff is very courteous. Pedro M's comments are correct, if the room is not on the boulevard, it can be claustrophobic. recently renovated with a decent restaurant downstairs

Room Tip: Overlooking the water or bust

Do NOT stay in any rooms away from the front of the hotel that overlook the boulevard. They are tiny with no windows, poor design (no end tables or benches upon which to stow your luggage), and a bathroom shower with no door/curtain which means water all over the floor the first time you use the shower. Did I mention also the tiny size of the bathroom which must have been designed for people under 5'5 height. The noise from the street included a music from a nearby club which lasted until 12:00. Thank God for sleeping pills. Never again.

Room Tip: Gert a room in front facing the boulevard/sea...at least it has a window/balcony.
