The best part of this property is the quality of food, just amazing & almost like home made tasty food. I have been going regularly to Haridwar for quite some time but i never found such hygienic food elsewhere. In the evening they organize Bhajan Sandhya and they are sung so aesthetically that you get transported to a world of tranquility. I would describe it a nice, peaceful stay. Since its a heritage property with almost all the facilities you expect in a Hotel, you feel like staying in your home only. Thay have a private ghat also. Staff is very courteous. The only thing that can be worked upon is the interiors of spa rooms. The aura of spa was missing a little bit. Rest everything was perfect.

Room Tip: Rooms facing Ganga river should be opted to add beauty to the overall experience

I stayed three weeks in the hotel during the Lord Shiva festival to follow yoga classes. I will never forget it. The hotel with still a feeling of a residence is in hidden away in the bazaar with terraces looking out over the Ganges. The festival activities took place around the hotel and the opposite site of the Ganges. A rickshaw take you from the railway station or parking lot to the hotel. During the festival tens of thousands of pilgrims clad in orange fullfilling their religeous duties. Outside the festival period, Haridwar is still a pleasant, busy holy city with a lot of temples and statues. Rishikesh, the yoga capital, a little upsteam and Mussoori, a city in and on the hills of the lower Himalaya are closeby and worthwhile to visit. The National Park was closed due to the monsoon. The reception staff are extremely helpful in planning your outings. The hotel is an ideal spot to start discovering the region.

No alcohol and no meat, fish chicken or eggs, only vegetarian food. I did not miss it. A wide variety of tasty dishes were served with especially in the morning the dossa, the tali (?) as lunch and in the evening the dinner buffet. The service was very friendly and efficient and the food was served in a homely environment. The room was comfortable and the facilities up to date.

The hotel permitted to attend to in house religeous activities and listen to prayers, to take a bath in the fast flowing Ganges, to follow yoga classes from an excellent, well qualified teacher in a dedicated room on river level and to relax with a massage on the top floor.

The hotel far exceeded my expectations and I can recommend this hotel to all who are looking for a real Indian experience.

Be prepared for a rickshaw ride in, as I wasn't, as the haveli is in the small lanes of the old town. But don't be deterred as it's worth the bumpy ride to get there for the personalized welcome. Book one of the two river-fronting superior rooms that open onto a huge terrace and the steps that lead down to the Ganges.
Take dinner in the restaurant and the waiters will tempt you to partake of all the buffet choices that combine into a delicious meal. The city is vegetarian and alcohol free, so wash it down with salted lemon soda rather than a glass of wine. Very refreshing.
Wake to the sound of the pundit giving a pooja and ready yourself for breakfast in spacious bathroom and adjacent dressing room and, afterward, get the guest relations manager to give you a tour of the three-storey property, which is beautifully restored yet incorporates olde worlde charm and memorabilia of its owners.
We checked into the hotel after a long drive from Joshimath (which followed 3 days of trekking in the Himalaya) and didn't leave until our late check out the next day.
An oustanding property with excellent staff, from the front desk to the porters.

Haveli Hari Ganga is a beautiful property which transports you to a time when taking a holy dip in the Ganges was an entire ritual in itself. Right from havan in the hotel courtyard, yoga in the morning to bhajan in the evening. Special aarti at the Ganga temple and an ambience which is so beautiful. Lovely verandahs and terraces where you can spend hours..... I highly recommend this hotel if you want a complete package. To top it all you are welcomed In the hotel with a beautiful string of 108 rudraksha rosary!

It was a family trip. The hotel is located on the banks of Ganga in the bylanes near Har ki pauri. Hotel has a fleet of cycle rickshaw - on request a pick up and drop can be arranged from the nearby stand. The lanes are pretty cramped hence you are not allowed to take your car near the hotel.the location is amazing. The rroms are neat and clean.

The hotel gives you a very ethnic feel of a old haveli. The hotel has a private bank - where you can spend the time in the evening and take a bath in the ganga.

They also arrange for viewing the evening aarti at har ki pauri - the only hitch there is the hotel staff does not clarify that the pandit (priest)will charge a huge amount for that visit. It is after the aarti you realize that the amount has to be paid to the priest - the only part I did not like,

Its a worth staying in this hotel !

Haveli Hari Ganga is a nice placed. Its hard to believe that in the midst of all the crowded lanes there could be a place as quiet as this. Right on the banks of the Ganga, we stayed there for one night for a family vacation. Rooms should be Ganga facing else its no good. Staff and manager were polite and nice except for one guy at the front desk – don’t know his name, but short and dark.
Some minor issues such as cockroahc on the bed, slow service in restaurant and no runnign hot water as they claim. But other than that it was a nice experience – good food, nice rooms and bathroom too. Didn’t try internet service. Overall a pleasant surprise given the usual state of hotels in India.
