Be prepared for a rickshaw ride in, as I wasn't, as the haveli is in the small lanes of the old town. But don't be deterred as it's worth the bumpy ride to get there for the personalized welcome. Book one of the two river-fronting superior rooms that open onto a huge terrace and the steps that lead down to the Ganges.
Take dinner in the restaurant and the waiters will tempt you to partake of all the buffet choices that combine into a delicious meal. The city is vegetarian and alcohol free, so wash it down with salted lemon soda rather than a glass of wine. Very refreshing.
Wake to the sound of the pundit giving a pooja and ready yourself for breakfast in spacious bathroom and adjacent dressing room and, afterward, get the guest relations manager to give you a tour of the three-storey property, which is beautifully restored yet incorporates olde worlde charm and memorabilia of its owners.
We checked into the hotel after a long drive from Joshimath (which followed 3 days of trekking in the Himalaya) and didn't leave until our late check out the next day.
An oustanding property with excellent staff, from the front desk to the porters.

Haveli Hari Ganga is a beautiful property which transports you to a time when taking a holy dip in the Ganges was an entire ritual in itself. Right from havan in the hotel courtyard, yoga in the morning to bhajan in the evening. Special aarti at the Ganga temple and an ambience which is so beautiful. Lovely verandahs and terraces where you can spend hours..... I highly recommend this hotel if you want a complete package. To top it all you are welcomed In the hotel with a beautiful string of 108 rudraksha rosary!

It was a family trip. The hotel is located on the banks of Ganga in the bylanes near Har ki pauri. Hotel has a fleet of cycle rickshaw - on request a pick up and drop can be arranged from the nearby stand. The lanes are pretty cramped hence you are not allowed to take your car near the hotel.the location is amazing. The rroms are neat and clean.

The hotel gives you a very ethnic feel of a old haveli. The hotel has a private bank - where you can spend the time in the evening and take a bath in the ganga.

They also arrange for viewing the evening aarti at har ki pauri - the only hitch there is the hotel staff does not clarify that the pandit (priest)will charge a huge amount for that visit. It is after the aarti you realize that the amount has to be paid to the priest - the only part I did not like,

Its a worth staying in this hotel !

I hav visited Haridwar on a no: of occasions before and hav mostly stayed @ ashrams which provide basics.....bt hav always looked for luxury.....and finally found the right place....just 5 mins frm hari-ki-pauri......an old haveli converted into heritage hotel.....

Food is amazing....homemade ambience and taste.... excellent hospitality....personal attention by staff.....

rooms are well made.....spacious....luxurious....well equiped....
only negative was that the bathroom was dingy....so asked housekeeping n they got room spray but it dint help much.....
they hav a private ghat so gud for ppl who wish to take a dip in Holy Ganga but dont like the mess @ hari-ki-pauri....
A little far from main parking area but they do provide free rickshaw service to n from the parking....no cars allowed around the area of the hotel.....

Dint try the spa so cant comment..

Room Tip: go for the ganga facing rooms

Haveli Hari Ganga is a nice placed. Its hard to believe that in the midst of all the crowded lanes there could be a place as quiet as this. Right on the banks of the Ganga, we stayed there for one night for a family vacation. Rooms should be Ganga facing else its no good. Staff and manager were polite and nice except for one guy at the front desk – don’t know his name, but short and dark.
Some minor issues such as cockroahc on the bed, slow service in restaurant and no runnign hot water as they claim. But other than that it was a nice experience – good food, nice rooms and bathroom too. Didn’t try internet service. Overall a pleasant surprise given the usual state of hotels in India.
