Rose Valley-Haridwar is the erstwhile Ginger-Haridwar. Being an ex-Ginger (ex-Tata Group) property, infrastructure was in place, and that was the belief with which we had booked. But thanks to lackadaisical management, the hotel seemed to be barely functioning.
I was with my wife, kid and parents. We had booked two rooms for two nights. Check-in staff seemed barely 10th pass, and absolutely disinterested in prepaid guests like us. On check-in, found one of the rooms semi-ready. On top of that, there was no water in one of the bathrooms. By this time, I had had enough. Using my Net-enabled phone, shot off a mail to the Chairman of Rose Valley group. Thanks to the mail, it took one hour for the staff to come up, apologise for the 'trouble caused', start the water and start taking an interest.
The hotel was under renovation when we were there. Overall, it had the look and feel of a failed hotel. If the management does not take things seriously, they are wasting their money in renovation.
