Very well-managed hotel with cheerful, friendly staff. Rooms of good standard, ours was right on the beach. Breakfast very good. Lunch and dinner of good standard. Best pizza ever. Beautiful surroundings. Lovely place to relax, enjoy the beach, drink cocktails at sundown.

Jimmy, thank you very much for your feedback. We love to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us, and the staff and pizzas miss you! The pizza oven keeps on working for our other guests, but it sure remembers you, just like the staff. We hope that we can see you here again one day, and we promise that we keep the food yummy, the beach cool and the atmosphere laid back and relaxing!
Have a nice day, and all the best from the Ndame Beach Lodg team...

We have just returned from a fantastic holiday in Zanzibar which included 7 nights at Ndame Beach Lodge. Initially we had a large family room, but this proved a little cramped for our family of 5, but we were able to move to a row of three rooms, 2 twins and a double which suited us much better. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was good, and the location is just perfect - it was 10 steps from our rooms to the beach! If we return to Zanzibar we shall certainly visit Ndame again.

Thank you for your feedback! It's lovely to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us, and it has been great to have you as guests. We were happy to change your room - the large family rooms are usually spacious enough, but you are right - with almost grown-up kids it can be difficult! And we are very happy to hear that you appreciate our best features: the friendly staff, the wonderful beach and the yummy cuisine.
We hope that we can welcome you back some day, and if you ever return to Zanzibar: Karibuni Ndame!

I had a wonderful stay at Ndame beach lodge. The bungalows are rustic and basic, but very clean and the beds were very good. The bungalows are situated in a nice, green garden. The breakfast and lunch/dinner, which were amazing, are served on the beach and there is a nice and charming - but not too loud - beach bar. The staff was super friendly and helpful (thumbs up!). The beach is beautiful and good sunbeds are provided. The owners were very flexible and allowed me to keep my room after check-out time (so I could take a shower before leaving) free of charge. It was a very relaxing experience (in a buzzy country) and I regret not staying there a few days longer!

Thank you very much for taking your time to provide some feedback. We appreciate any comment and are happy to hear that you have enjoyed your stay with us. The beach and our staff are two things that all our guests love, and we like to think of these two as our main features. Not to forget the yummy food! As you agree with us, we hope that one day you will come back and visit us with your friends or your family - we loved having you as a guest, and would love to see you again! Maybe you can stay longer than a couple of days...in return we promise to keep the beach white and fine, the food delicious and the management flexible...

We really enjoyed our stay in Ndame Beach Lodge. The rooms are basic, but all you need for some relaxing days. The team was very friendly and warm. Some members of the service-team were not well informed or a bit clumsy, but as we know it is not easy to find good personal and to coach them for european/western standards. So, have lenience with them. We had a long and inspiring talk with Hans, the manager as we travelled through the country of Tanzania for 3 months and it was good to share some impressions.

The food was also brilliant, even if the chief was not there and not only if you compare it to other restaurants in Tanzania. It was really fresh and tasty food. And, as the Lodge itself is, - very good value/money!

The beach is absolutely brilliant and it's only 20-30 metres away from your appartement door.
if you are lucky you get moderate pricing as a student. We had some nights at Teddy's Place before which is about 200m down the beach and was hyped a lot. But it was not. Ndame beats it in every single thought. The whole experience was just from another planet.
We will not forget you!

Thank you very much for taking your time to give us feedback - we love to hear that our guests enjoyed their stay with us, and we are happy to hear that you enjoyed all that Ndame stands for: miles of fine, white sand, a friendly (albeit not perfect) team of staff, yummy food and a relaxing, laid back atmosphere.
Our food is always fresh and comes straight from the market or sea - our F&B Manager has trained the staff so well that they can continue the job while he's on a well deserved holiday. We also continue training and developing our staff - yes, some trainees are still confused, but we will get them up to the level of our head waiter. And as you say yourself, sometimes you have to remind yourself that you are on holiday in Africa - Western professionalism might not always be there, but the staff makes it up with their friendliness and effort.
We hope that we can welcome you here again one day - we will certainly remember you as guests as well.

Rented a room with 3 friends. The room was okey and clean. It had 3 fans, but just two of them was working, and one of them were so noisy that we couldn't use it.
The bathroom have definetly seen better days, but we didn't expect to much paying 25 USD for one night. The rooms are close to the beach.
They have good breakfast, and a restaurant and a bar. They also have a Wifi-hotspot, it works best in the restaurant.
A nice and cheap place to stay.

Thank you very much for your feedback, and we are happy to hear that you enjoyed our beautiful beach and breakfast, as these two are definitely two of our main features that all our guests enjoy.
With regards to fans, we usually have some spare fans that we are happy to provide if there are any problems with the ones in the room - we are sure that you have asked for yours to be replaced. The room that you are stayed in is due for a complete renovation this year, and the bathroom will be redone - we know that is too late for you, but we hope that maybe one day you come back and see the improvement. Then you can also enjoy our yummy breakfast again! We certainly enjoyed having you guys around, so karibu tena!

Ndame hotel had a good value room for a group of 3, bargain for a good rate. The room was basic and old but clean and comfortable enough.
The stretch of beach is really beautiful and perfect for swimming as the beach slopes a bit giving some depth in the high tide. The kite surfing is not too out of control here either.
The bar is perfect and simple looking out directly on the beach. The restaurant service was laid back and confused but generally good and friendly. The food was surprisingly excellent. A little higher priced than elsewhere in Paje but large portions and quite varied, We ate huge tuna steaks in Japanese style and very delicious pizzas. The drinks were well priced and very cold beer. Definitely recommend as cheap no frills place to stay in a group or just to eat.

Thank you for your feedback and taking time to write a review. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us, and agree with you that we have one of the most beautiful stretches of beach here. The kiting is close enough but far enough to enjoy the view of just the amazing Indian Ocean, particular from our beach bar. It's also nice to hear that you enjoyed our laid-back atmosphere, but we are still thinking what to do about the 'confused' service - maybe our current English classes in the afternoon for the staff will help to address this. We are a bit surprised to hear about the comparatively higher prices as we find our dishes to be good value for money and reasonably priced for the quantity and quality.
All the best from our little spot of heaven and sunny greetings from the Ndame Beach Lodge team

Lovely, lovely place...there are about 30 rustic bungalows in this nice little resort with its wonderful garden...nice and clean, nothing fancy. Daily power outages are normal (it is Africa, after all), but the kitchen has a generator, and you can get candles from the restaurant if you don't have flashlights or similar. Great helpful staff - nice, chatty German host. If you are interested in local customs or want to help local projects, Hans is the one you want to talk to. If you are planning excursions, the reception has many helpful tipps and can advise you on the local prices.
The resort features the only restaurant directly on the beach in Paje and serves decent food thanks to the Austrian chef. You can reach anything in Paje within a 10minutes walk...
My boyfriend and I agree that is the nicest looking, very well located resort in Paje...we will definetely return here if we ever come back to Zanzibar!!

Room Tip: The Jambo Bar close to the resort , if that bothers you, try to get a bungalow with a higher room nu...
