Just got back from 6 nights at Breezes after safari and it was a wonderful experience. The whole location is wonderful to be in and the staff are really nice & friendly. Breakfast is a good selection of fruit, cereal and cooked foods. Lunch overlooking the beautiful blue sea at the Dhow Bar was lovely and evening meals had a reasonable amount of variation for the size of hotel. The rooms were of a very high standard and the turndown team come in every evening to lower the mosquito nets and spray the room (if you want) to help you get a good nights sleep. Apart from wind in the palm trees and the sounds of the surf - we didn't hear much else - none of the usual hotel type noises.
We have a couple of very minor niggles. We thought the wine was expensive for what in the UK is very inexpensive wine. I know they have to make a profit but the amount for wine seemed rather high. The half day trips include traveling time to/from the location so check out where the trip goes to or you could spend most of your half day traveling. The cashiers office doesn't accept travelers cheques any more (even though it still says they do on their website) and the only place to withdraw cash is in Stonetown (over 1 hour away).
Apart from these minor niggles we loved the location, staff and whole experience and would love to go back again

We were picked up by Abbas a very friendly driver and self described former "matateso" The beach is pristine and not at all commercialized. The resort is very clean and exquisite. Steve and the Staff are very welcoming and friendly. Rodrigo, Executive Chef Jitu and the restaurant staff is very accommodating. Highly recommend this place. Zanzibar is a must on any Tanzania trip

We stayed here last year as a family.
The staff were amazing.. They couldn't do more.
The breakfasts were great. So much fruit and fresh juices. They were inventive and imaginative wi their menus day in and out. Themed evenings for food, but it could have been tacky but it worked really well.
Te swimming pool was sea water and really warm.
The rooms were great and lots of space and beautifully and tastefully decorated.
We did have to pay for wi fi though.
The only thing that was really disappointing was seeing young girls and women being asked to clear the anemones from the reef to make it more tourist friendly. I am not sure whether this was commissioned by the hotels along the strip, but it was sad to see the back breaking work they were doing in the midday heat for approx 10p a bucket and also the devastation of the reef which at present is beautiful. Unfortunately poverty is very real here and thus picking shells for tourists is easy money for the fishermen at present, but there should be more posters up about the real damage that it can cause. Case of Mombasa and the complete devastation of the reef apart from now designated areas.

We thoroughly enjoyed the 4 nights we spent at Breezes Beach club. Our suite room was fantastic, the food was amazing and we had a superb choice of excursions! Would certainly like to return next year.

This was meant as a relax after 6 days safari. 2 corresponding flights from Serengeti Seronera airstrip, 1 hour drive and we finally arrive at the relaxing part of our vacation.
The hotel is situated next to Bweeju village at south-east coast of Zanzibar island.
70 rooms, swimming pools, palms, quite a lot of space, white sand beach, exactly in line with images we had about Zanzibar.
Rooms are situated in the villas of ground floor / 1st floor, each with I believe 6 rooms, small terrace. plenty of flowers, grass, palms around, you don't get a feeling of typical resort for masses.
Welcome very nice, beautiful open lobby, local architecture, palms roofs, plenty of sofas, some explanation and we are taken to our room. clean, very spacious, but we are stuck by kind of "wet smell" where we enter with staff to our room. We clearly didn't like the smell, staff is calling manager, who arrives in just a few minutes and agrees that probably there is an issue with AC and that they didn't had time to properly aerate the room after late check out. he immediately proposes us upgrade to the villa, but only for one night, as there and no other rooms left, and for second night he proposes to move us to the nearby Baraza hotel, where we were supposed to stay our last night as a cherry on the cake for our vacation. That's what I call excellent prompt reaction to the subjective feeling of the guest!

(Breeze, Palms and Baraza are 3 hotels belonging to the same Zanzibar collection group next to each other, each with different targeting and obviously different pricing)

So we enjoy our villa room with even more space, some bars next to the beautiful beach, swimming pool. Hotel is full but you don't feel that it 's crowded, there is generous space all around.
Dinner is changing - one day buffet, one day served menu (choice from 3 menus, one of them vegetarian) Drinks are paid here extra, but pretty reasonable priced for such a tourist destination.
Service is excellent, food as well.
Open areas, including open area (though covered) for dinner is giving the place nice atmosphere.

We got "a chance" to try also hotel medical service during night, in less than 10 min, 1 am in the night, hotel nurse was there, quickly identifying allergic reaction to some food for my wife, they stayed with us for 1 hour, together with anti-histaminic pills, situation gets to the normal. Next morning during breakfast we're immediately identified by hotel manager, fully aware of the incident, worried about health of my wife. Another nice little extra points for the hotel.

I would really recommend this hotel, it's officially 4* hotel, but nothing to do with some 4* hotels in some other popular destinations like Egypt, Turkey, Greece. Ideal for family vacation, reasonable pricing, 70 rooms only, plenty of space and you get more than you pay for!

We came to Breezes after safari in Tanzania to relax and unwind. We loved the pool area, hotel layout and extra friendly service from the delightful staff. We were upgraded from a de luxe room to a suite which was very welcome. Our room was huge with a beautiful and enormous "sultan" bed draped romantically with mosquito nets, a spacious bathroom and walk-in wardrobe. We had large balconies with sun beds, which we didn't use very much. Our teenage daughters were next door to us across the landing and our balconies joined up. The arrangement was perfect. The whole hotel was very attractive and kept extremely clean. Meals were a combination of buffet and waiter service. The one area we were disappointed in was the amount of wind across the sea and beach. It made beach and sea rather uninviting. We were informed by scuba staff that it was the windy season and it was not always advisable to take scuba trips out beyond the reef as the water was choppy. Similarly we were advised that the dolphin spotting/swimming trip may not be very enjoyable due to the wind and choppy conditions. However I must point out that the hotel is designed in such a way that the pool area is wonderfully sheltered and was a real haven. Our daughters really loved it, and the food served in the pool cafe. We took trips out to visit Bwejuu village (privileged encounter with local residents) Stone town (interesting, essential to experience
the real heart of Zanzibar) and Jozani Forest (rather tame following safari).

Room Tip: Bathrooms, walk-in wardrobes and large balcony make the suites very comfortable.
