Stunning

We were unsure, when we booked this hotel! We were pleasantly surprised! The staff, appeared, to be waiting for our arrival, and went out of their way for us! Spectacular views, from our private balcony of beautiful, white sand beaches, and turquoise water! Food was exceptional! We also, had a great massage!
Wish we could have stayed longer

We stayed at Villa Kiva for our holiday.
On the beach really close to the hotel, few meters on the left, we met MCDONALD and AGI, two beach boys whom arrange tours.
We did Blue safari with them.
Blue safari was literally impeccable. The driver picked us up in front of the hotel and drove till Fumba village. He is really friendly and professional. He was keep asking if everything was ok and if we need anything. He also coming with us during the trip.
The tour is properly arranged with an high standard organizzation. Everything is smooth and without any pressure like they say "POLA POLA".(calm, calm)
MC DONALD is a good person and good with price only if you are willing to negotiate with him😉. Also AGI is a good person and good to negotiate with him, he also speaks a good Italian.
We were a group of five people and we were high satisfied with them.
100% recommended.

We stayed here for 5 nights but wish it was longer - fantastic little place with the happy friendly staff who go out of their way to please you. Just loved it as a place to relax and unwind. The Italian owner ensures you have good coffee on hand and their attention to detail is paramount. Matemwe is quiet place and not over developed so don’t come here to party! It is however, a great setting to enjoy the kilometres of white sandy beach and diving to Nmemba is easy if a little too expensive for our liking. Yes you can swim but only when the tide is is they provide reef shoes for you to explore the water at low tide, watch out for sea urchins, it is not a snorkel beach you do that off a boat at Nmemba.

Located on the beach with a stunning view of the ocean. The beach is a long stretch of clean white powder sand, seaweed and urchins but with few people. Limited swimming due to tide going far out.
Spacious comfortable room with good AC and wifi, serviced daily. Large bathroom with hot water and toiletries. Grounds well maintained with two pools and a spa. Food was very good and reasonably priced. Friendly and attentive staff. Very enjoyable stay despite the overpriced transfers (U$30 v U$50). One hour from airport and Stone Town, and 30 minutes from Nungwi.

for the money, this is a very nice option to stay at...the room and bathroom were clean...the shower needs a curtain...the floor was flooded every time we took a shower...the small porch was very nice and there were screens!!!! on the windows...the a/c worked well..,..they give you fresh water everyday....kettle and coffee/ tea supplies...Breakfast was OK and offered plenty of choices....the
lunch and dinner menu offered plenty of choices for a reasonable price....and was offered all day. ...the beach is very long and you can take nice walks.....the beach in front of the hotel is NOT cleaned daily and seaweed is everywhere.....there are NO chairs, table ,or umbrellas on the beach! they have made a fake beach to sit on....there are two pools.,,..in the back of the hotel,so no ocean views of breezes....no service at pool or beach...Staff was standoffish compared to other resorts we stayed at in Zanzibar

We - a family of four - spent 6 nights at Villa Kiva. It has a perfect location straight on the beach, good layout, comfortable rooms, friendly staff, two pools...

Villa Kiva had, probably, the best breakfast offer we ever had in a tropical country, as it had a very good selection of fresh local fruits (not typical in most other places). The only improvement the breakfast setting could benefit from would be training the staff in operating the toaster - every morning brought us new surprises and challenges, but also lots of fun and joy.

Restaurant is also ok for lunch and dinner, but is slightly overpriced and has more European/International cuisine, than I would expect in Zanzibar. Still, kids enjoyed pizzas, and “ceviche Zanzibar style“ became our favourite. However, beware of prawns - on the only occasion we tried these clearly were not fresh from the sea, to put it mild.

Villa has plenty of spaces to relax, watching the sea and the sky or playing bao game.

Staff is very attentive, friendly, and reasonably professional. It seemed to us, that they were slightly overdoing with combatting mosquitoes, but it is better than the other way around.

All in all - a lovely place to stay and highly recommended.
