Good value for money. Big and clean rooms. Food was great (both breakfast and dinner). Friendly and helpful people. A perfect place to relax!

We first planned to stay only 1 night, but we decided to extend our stay to 3 nights. We had a great time.

Cheapest accomodation at Matemwe. It's right to the beach. The rooms are big and contain everything you need. The stuff is friendly and help you with everything. You can eat there good and cheap (meal around 15000TSH). They rent bicycles, bikes and snorkling gear.

I didn't actually stay at the bungalows but just wanted to recommend the car hire service also run by Ally. Something of a local legend, Ally couldn't be more helpful, from meeting us at a bar to take us to the car to the same upon return, as well as delivering our possessions mistakenly left in the car back to us early in the morning. This guy goes above and beyond and I can't recommend more highly.

I loved my stay at Keys Bungalow:) It is a very relaxing place!!

It is right on the beach with hammocks
The staff is very friendly. They have good food and fresh juice

Another benefit is that this place is near Mnemba island. A boat trip will bring you to this snorkel place, which is also the best snorkel place in zanzibar

Enjoy your stay!

Stayed: April 2016

(+) The view from the room, a lot of friendly local people around!

(-) cockroaches (dead & alive); sand in the room: loud; no windows; incompetent staff; too expensive; the water didn't work; the fan didn't work; the food is moderate.

We had a Bungalow with a big bed for two persons.
If you come into a room and you find 2 dead cockroaches right in the middle of the bathroom beside another 2 which are still alive I can not imagine that anyone had a look at this room before or even cleaned it. We asked the waiter for having a look - he said yes - he killed the other two with our key and went away.

There are no windows so the wind blows the sand everywhere into the bungalow (bed, etc.) We asked the waiter to clean our room - he said yes - no reaction. (later he apologized because he had no key (at keys bungalow, haha!))

The water at the washbowl didn't work / the fan didn't work.
We asked the waiter for towels (twice) - he said yes - no reaction.

We paid 45$ per Night / Room - it's not even worth 20$.
This should be a Backpackers-Place but somehow the price got incredible high.

We left after one night!
