My friend and I stayed here after our Kilimanjaro hike last September. We started in Stone Town then went to Chumbe Island and finally ended the trip at Ras Nungwi. The hotel itself is very cosy and has a wonderful open air lobby. Our room wasn't ready due to a flood so they comped us lunch and drinks until they could get us all set up. The room ended up being very nice. It wasn't ocean front but was very modern and comfortable. Some positives of this hotel are the dive center (we did a snorkeling tour from there), the lobby, and the gorgeous sea views. The color of the sea was breathtaking. The only negative was that they shut down all food service at like 6pm and forced you to eat at the only restaurant. If I want a sandwich from the bar at 7pm, then I feel like I should be able to get that. They need to offer guests other food options during the evening. Was very disappointed. On the bright side, I really enjoyed the buffet breakfast!
Thanks Ras Nungwi,
Patrick and Sherry
