“Beautiful Views and Good Food”
Reviewed March 12, 2013

We stayed at the Z Hotel recently or three nights and ate lunch here twice and had dinner here once as well. Decent menu (though not that large so after three meals it would have been difficult to go back again). Everything we ate there was fresh and well prepared and tasty. As it is upstairs with the entire front open air, the views are really beautiful. Service was friendly but often slow.

Certainly if you are staying at the Z Hotel or are staying nearby and want a more casual dinner one night, this is a good bet.

Having visited several times for cocktails I decided to visit on Xmas day and treat myself to a pizza. The service was polite but incredibly slow, even for Nungwi, My pizza was terrible, the worst I have had in Zanzibar, I lived and worked here for 9 months, so have had some shockers. It was like eating dry cardboard, there was little topping and the cheese was non existent. I did not even manage to eat a slice. I got it wrapped and took it to feed the cats in the village. For the price this wsa appalling, I looked for our waitress to tell her but she was nowhere to be seen. The guy that collected out plates did not even ask why the pizza had barely been touched. As this place charges twice that of other places in Nungwi that serve up pretty decent pizzas they need to make sure they are serving up food that justifies the price. Would drink here again but would think twice before eating here.

“Great Cocktails!”
Reviewed December 13, 2012

We went here for appy's and cocktails with a group. The appy's were the best food we'd had in our month overlanding across East Africa. We also had the cinnamon martini's which were absolutely delicious!! The service was great and the prices were good too.

“Nice place for the view, drinks and food”
Reviewed November 20, 2012

It's not quite as fancy as the restaurant below, but I found the food to be better. Curry, burgers, squid appetizers, mouthwatering chocolate cake- Delightful! The service was pleasant and generally attentive.
Happy hour wasn't busy and a great option for pre-dinner drinks.

“Cocktail Hour”
Reviewed November 20, 2012

Although the restaurant down stairs from this bar is very good, the cinnamon restaurant was not quite the highlight we were expecting. The staff, as always, were incredibly friendly and the environment itself has a lovely atmosphere.

We had cocktails here during their happy hour - Unfortunately these were'nt all that great, which is a shame but I probably shouldn't complain too much - they were only $5 each!
