My wife and I, with friends, decided to tour around Zanzibar Island, we only stayed in Casa Amarillo for 3 nights due to our tight schedule, we wished we had stayed longer. The staff were lovely. Food and the drinks very tasty. The Villa was well equipped: big comfy beds, ceiling fans and air con, walk in showers, sitting room with large flat screen TV with lots of films to chose from. Spacious terrace with stunning Ocean views, where we dinner each evening. Relaxing lazy days around the pool. It was so peaceful and quiet just what we wanted after a busy hot safari. Thumbs up from us.
My family and I have just spent 6 very relaxing days at Kidoti Villas (Amarillo) the villa has amazing views of the Ocean, with breath taking sunsets. And it's nowhere near any of the big resorts, very quiet and peaceful. A very spacious villa perfect for a family like ours. I spent most of the day relaxing on the sunbeds or terrace - dipping in and out of the pool. The kids spent most of the days In the pool or were off kite surfing. The staff (Micheal & John) were excellent. Compliments to the chef, the food was delicious, we mainly ate at the Villa. A couple of times we took advantage of the curtesy transport and went down to The Z Hotel for sundowners then ate dinner there, good quality, fresh food. Every morning we went for a stroll down to the nearby beach (7 mins walk) it was deserted very peaceful, then strolled back to the Villa had a swim, then breakfast on our private terrace – fresh bread rolls in the morning - perfect start to the day. The whole family thoroughly enjoyed our time here – we highly recommend.
Having visited & stayed at The Z Hotel on a number of occasions, I was intrigued to hear they had created some off-site rental properties a short drive from the hotel. On my return to Zanzibar in December, I stayed at Casa Amarillo and it was the perfect getaway. So chilled.
The villa is designed and decorated in a lovely fusion of modern and local style. The rooms are large and comfortable, and there are all the mod cons if you fancy watching some TV. There were staff on site/call throughout our stay to keep the fridge stocked, shake up a few cocktails; what's not to love?!
The grounds are beautifully peaceful and well-maintained. And even though you share a pool with the adjacent Kidoti Villa (another from The Z Hotel), it still feels feels very private.
Staff were friendly, food was awesome (daily menu with lunch/dinner offerings) and everyones keen to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
I would highly recommend the villas for someone looking to get away from it all, for total relaxation and more privacy than you’d get in a hotel.
We stayed at the Casa Amarillo during our last trip to Zanzibar in October 2016 and had a wonderful time. The view from the terrace is magnificent and we thoroughly enjoyed having a glass of wine enjoying the sunsets each evening. The service was also excellent, the staff at the villa are very friendly and we had many tasty meals cooked by the villas chef. A couple of nights we took a taxi to the hotel and ate there which was also very convenient and lovely. The villa is very comfortable and the surroundings are peaceful and quiet, it is a perfect place for relaxing. There are sunbeds and umbrellas for sunbathing and the pool stays nice and cool even on very hot days, and is so refreshing. We started most of our days with a dip! We ventured out a little too, walking down to the beach (only about 10min) where we saw local fishermen with their boats and ladies walking over to the nearby island in search of crabs or oyster (we think!). I would recommend the villas for anyone wanting to enjoy the serenity of beautiful views and a charming hacienda-style villa, with a full service.
