spent two days in the mountains and cedar forests with Karim and Youssef who did everything to make my trip as interesting and enjoyable as possible. I also spent some time around the city of Azrou ,shared a meal with Karims family in their home where I was treated with great kindness and made to feel very welcome. All in all a great experience and one that I would highly recommend.

A trip not to be missed when in beautiful Morocco. Karim will take you up through from Azrou up through the most beautiful scenery to see the most amazing panoramic views. Karim is a wonderfully warm an energetic host who was born and lives in the area, and knows everything about both the mountains and the Moroccan way of life. Karim was joined by Youssef and they both provided a perfect natural camping experience in the woods overnight. Don't hesitate! Thanks to Dave for making it way to book.

Our Guide Karim was passionate about the country we hiked and camped in, Karim was born in this area. This enthusiasm made the hike and overnight camp a memorable trip. We hiked from the village to the camping spot and were rewarded with seeing the apes as we neared the end of our hike. To top it off the apes came from all direction around our camp and stayed in the cedar trees around us for the night. An experience we will not forget. Karim as extreamly helpful as a guide and helped us arrange a change we had to make to our intinery. All in all a ten out of ten experience. I hope all that take this trip enjoy it as much as we did. Karim will go out of His way to make it so.

My husband has had a lifelong ambition to visit the cedar forest, and was not disappointed, describing the walk up from Azrou through the different vegetation zones to our wonderful campsite on the grass underneath the giant cedars as "one of the most memorable days of my life." We enjoyed the botany, geology, birds, glimpse of the High Atlas covered in snow and the forest with Karim, who could not have been a better guide and companion, making sure that every care was taken for our wild camping comfort and experience of the area. The visit from the apes as we were leaving was an unexpected bonus. We also enjoyed visiting the souk and interesting museum at the National Park Office, as well as the cooking of Karim's mother and sister. Thank you also to Abdou of the carpet shop and herbal tea for the loan of the djellabas, very necessary in the cold evenings and good fun too!

Dear Julia W family & friends, I also hold the same passion for the cedar forest enchantment and wild camping, so know why you were buzzing whilst there.

I’m pleased we had our Q&A telephone conversation before you booked; it enabled Karim & I to customise your visits wish list.

“Bravo to you all” that’s quite an accent up to the Cedar’s from Azrou Medina; I find that particular hike gives you a true prospective of the lay of the land and diversity of the geology, flora & fauna this region has to offer nature lovers.

Karim will pass your thanks to his mother, sister & Abdul.

Djellabas were the way to go! “I blame the Jet Stream”.

Many thanks for your support & outstanding TA review.

Kind wishes
Dave.

In planning a three-day stay in Fes, our family, including our 23-year-old daughter, wanted to experience first-hand the landscape of the Middle Atlas. We contacted Karim through Morocco Unexplored. He tailored a day hike for us in the cedar forest near Azrou, including transportation (he met us in Fes, with a driver, at precisely the appointed time), a hike geared to our abilities, and at the end of the hike a lamb tagine cooked al fresco by an associate in the cedar forest, mint tea, and a cake made by Karim's sister. It rained, heavily at times, the entire day, but Karim's good cheer never flagged. He had the foresight to provide rain pants for us, and a tent for our picnic, so we were as comfortable as possible, and the day turned out to be one of the more memorable ones of our trip.

“Every cloud has a silver lining,”… I’m so glad to hear the downpour didn't dampen your spirit of adventure/appetite, and that you all still had a pleasurable middle Atlas experience with us in the wonderful cedar forest above Azrou.
Many thanks for your support, vivid review & photos.
Best wishes
Dave.
