I recently took my partner to Cottage Point Inn for lunch. It is in a remote location which is lovely and romantic with gorgeous views over the water. We arrived by boat, which is a nice touch. We were 40minutes late for our booking and they still served us the degustation menu. (I was surprised) The food was lovely. The service was great. Highly recommend for a romantic meal!

We have been to this restaurant a number of times - for a romantic dinner on special occasions and also with family and friends. We almost always drive through the bush and wildflowers to get there but once we visited while staying on our yacht on the Pittwater. The people are particularly helpful in guiding to a mooring place and ensuring you are comfortable in getting from your boat to the restaurant. The food is always fabulous and the view is superb. The service is extremely pleasant.

This restaurant is situated on the water and does have a lovely ambience. Unfortunately thats where it stops. The prices are ridiculously expensive. An entree of scallops consisted of 4 small scallops with a touch of salad for $AUD 28.00. The main course of barramundi consisted of a rather small fillet of fish with some mushrooms for $AUD 43.00. The wine list starts at $48.00 for the cheapest bottle of wine. The sizes were extremely small so it was just as well there was 'free' bread. Service was just okay. The bathrooms need a makeover. Bottom line is this restaurant delivers a very small meal at a very high price. There are much cheaper and better restaurants situated on the water around the northern beaches.

Save this restaurant for nature-lovers and for Spring - driving out through the National Park with the wild flowers in bloom is beautiful, hand-feeding the kookaburras on the railing over the water, watching the sea eagles which nest on the shore opposite, and the green, peaceful setting are perfect for catching up with old friends over a long, leisurely and delicious lunch.

Only draw-back - the steps to the restaurant, which seemed so easy on the way down, seem a long way up afterwards! If that's a problem you can come in by water, or (budget permitting) by sea plane from the city.

The staff are welcoming and happy (who wouldn't be, working in a setting like this!) and the food is great.
