“Great Walk with Great Restaurants and Clean Sand”
Reviewed February 16, 2014

The walk around the beach and further to beaches close by provide a great view, medium demand walk and provide wall to wall restaurants, bars and shopping for the traveller or visitor to the area. Safe swimming - between the flags caps off a great day.

Stopped here whilst walking from Bondi to Coogee (a great and highly recommended 5km walk) and had a gluten free freshly grilled baramundi and salad, along with (non gluten free) traditional fish and chips. It was excellent and a reasonable price. Ate it on one of many benches available in the park opposite, just yards from the sea.

“A memory of better days long gone”
Reviewed January 15, 2014 via mobile

I lived right on this beach for many years until 2008.

It used to be my favourite ocean beach, and still is in the middle of winter.

It has the best setup from all the beaches, with the bogey hole safe for children, the cliffs for cliffjumping, the iconic bronte to McKenzies open ocean swim past tamarama and the rock pool.

As with all things of beauty these days, the crowds destroy it in the end...

By 2008 there were frequent break ins and vandalism at the cafes, partying teenagers on the wkends in the park, broken beer bottles, etc

The rockpool continuously overcrowded in the summer, no chance of lap swimming unless you want to go at 5-6am

In the end people were camping out with food on my doorstep and total loss of respect for the local residenst was a common thing.

In the winter things are still reminiscent of the good old days, endless laps in the rockpool, sunset drinks and snacks at the cafes, and running up and down the coastal walk without the crowds.

For a tourist visit coogee is probably better as swimming is safer, but Bronte is still beautiful to look at, if not as nice anymore to enjoy...

“Our favourite Sydney beach”
Reviewed January 14, 2014

Picking a favourite beach in Sydney is no easy feat; the city is blessed with dozens of beaches and every one is different and has its own personality.

For us, Bronte is the best beach in Sydney for many reasons: it is not too difficult to visit, yet it is relatively unknown to many overseas visitors. It has grass, tress, kiosks and a gorgeous sandy beach with incredible waves; so you can get roasted in the sun or look for refuge in the shade. But it also has shallow snorkeling areas and even a salt-water pool. It has a relaxed and friendly beach cafe and an assortment of nearby restaurants; or you can bring your own rug and have a family picnic in the grass.

Bronte Beach is better suited to families with children, groups of friends and visitors who want to experience a relaxed and friendly atmosphere; away from the chaos and inconvenience of other locations in the Eastern Suburbs.

There is a very-reliable bus service from Bondi Junction (378), but you can walk in from Bondi, Waverley or Coogee,

“Excellent Beach..”
Reviewed January 8, 2014

You will love this beach.. Clean.. Lots of people visit this beach and hence it is tough to get a parking near the beach.. Also, it is for max 1 hour.. You get sun for a long time here.. Better than the very crowded Bondi Beach..
