Pinegrove is inspired by a log cabin. To get there, you take a turnoff at the highway and travel for about 20 mins on a gravel road.

Due to the set-up of the property, where the rooms are directly above the reception and dining area, you can hear the noise in the second floor Family bedroom where we stayed. We had 6 single beds in our room. There was not much space to put our things but it was fine for one night, and was reasonably priced at P5,000 (philippine pesos). There was low water pressure. No hair dryer, flimsy towels. Bring your own if these are important to you.

The restaurant closes early. Last call for dinner at the restaurant is at 7:30pm. Take note that food takes a while to be served. But the food is cheap food. The Burger is a good deal at P150. Limited choices for wine; you can bring your own bottle for a corkage fee of P300. You can request for fresh fruits to be served although these are not in the menu.

The nearby Park Amenities start at 8:30 am and end at 5pm, except when there is a tropical depression. Operation of the amenities stops when it rains hard. When we visited, some rides were being maintained and were not available. If you are booked at PineGrove, you get a 20%discount on ziplline packages.

You can request for Drinking water to be brought to your room in the evening. Tvchannels are limited but there are a few board games you can borrow to help while away the evenings.

There is another property nearby, Forest park. upon closer inspection, Pinegrove offered more privacy and better accommodations.

Room Tip: The second floor bedrooms were a bit noisy. There are other rooms on the lower floor. These may offer greater reprieve from the noise and water pressure may be better.

Pinegrove is a small lodging place, just about 9 rooms. But it has many endearing qualities that make it my personal choice. I did have a chance to look at other accommodations nearby, and I'm just really happy that my family and I chose to stay at Pinegrove.

Location : Nestled in a mountainous area in Dahilayan, Bukidnon, it offers great panoramic views of Mt. Kitanglad, and its surroundings. It is close to the Ziplines, Forest Park, Saddle Ridge Camp, etc.

Accommodations: The lobby is very homey and cozy. Rooms are very clean, and well appointed, and I make special mention of their good quality beds and pillows, which I am very particular about when I travel. Inspite of the cool mountain weather, rooms are equipped with aircons, and ceiling fans as an option. Very few cable channels. but who wants to watch tv when all you want to do is take in the beauty of your surroundings.

Food: They serve good, native cuisine at the only resto outlet, Tia Nanan's....great comfort food prepared fresh upon order..Hot soup dishes like Beef Nilaga and Sinigang na Hipon, so comforting in the cool mountain weather. And old time favorites like Crispy Pata and Fried chicken, even the Bangus Sisig was so good..And if you're lucky to visit at that time of the year, they offer fresh Dahilayan grown strawberries. There have more than enough dishes to choose from in their menu.

Breakfast, though, was not as good. It is plated, and comes with the room accommodation. May I suggest that they make some improvements on their breakfast preparation, like maybe use homemade corned beef (instead of canned), nearby Del Monte is known for their beef.

Staff: Since it was a weekend holiday, it was understandable that the staff were quite a bit harassed, but they were quite courteous and tried to be as accommodating to the inn's guests. I did have a problem with our shuttle bus arrangements as we were going back to Cagayan de Oro City, but even that did not spoil the great time we had in Dahilayan.

I would not hesitate to stay in this place again next time we find ourselves back in this breathtaking and amazing part of Bukidnon, where one can truly experience nature at its best!

Room Tip: Rooms at the basement had their own private balconies, where you had endless views of pine trees and the ziplines.
