We returned (March 2012) for 2 nights and still Riversong and Wanaka are amongst the most beautiful places in the world to us! Hosts Anne and Ian are delightful and feel more like old friends. Breakfasts are delicious and plentiful. Our room and bathroom were spotless and heavenly comfortable amongst a tranquil setting that encourages total relaxation and deep breaths of the pure NZ air......all this as the Clutha River bubbles past........did I mention heavenly!!

Room Tip: The upstairs room is the best of course, but don't wear it out cause we'll be back another t...

We stayed for two nights in late February 2012. The upstairs room was excellent, with cleverly designed storage to get the inevitable bags and clutter one travels with out of the way. Ian and Anne were lovely hosts and the breakfasts were great. We were worried about having to drive to Wanaka in the evenings to get a meal but it wasn't a problem at all. Ian was a great companion as a guide on a day's fishing.

We stayed for two nights during March 2012 for the Wanaka A&P Show.
What a welcome respite from the hussle and bustle of the showgrounds.
Easy to find and the view and tranquility of our upstairs room was gorgeous - and thats coming from a NZ'er that lives in Queenstown! Beautifully situated right beside the river on the first night it was warm enough to sleep with the doors open and listen to the Clutha River bubbling past.
Ann and Ian are a lovely couple who are hosts with the most. Ann sent us off on Saturday morning with muffins and sweet treats. Thank you!! Breakfast is warm friendly affair with great food and friendly hosts and fellow guests to swap stories with. Would highly recommend to both international and New Zealand visitors

Room Tip: The upstairs room overlooking the river and with views up to the mountains has a balcony to enjoy. T...

We spent 3 wonderful nights at the Riverson in late Feb 2012. I highly recommend booking the upstairs room with the double doors that open to the balcony overlooking the Clutha river which will lull you to sleep most gently. While only 5 minutes from touristy Wanaka, the Riversong offers a slightly off-the-track respite from all the tour buses and sometimes rowdy street scene in town. Anne's breakfasts are truly magical - - - especially those heavenly corn fritters. While the weather was a bit mixed during our stay, the fishing forays led by Ian were quite special. I will never forget the Nevis valley!

Room Tip: There are 2 rooms. For only slightly more, choose upstairs with it's separate bathroom and great...
