So much more winter sun than Queenstown, nicer family feel, less touristy and real kiwi feel to the place, very much like Taupo.

Would liked to have spent more time here, is a real special place.

It was a lovely leisurely walk, scenery was lovely and relaxing. It was [picturesque and inviting. There are a few vantage points at the top of the hill heading into the the quaint town. We stopped atop the hill on the way out for a coffee & to soak in more of the view. Take a picnic if you enjoy the outdoors, plenty of places to sit

We visited Lake Wanaka on multiple occasions and it was amazing! Highly recommend it to anyone who is visiting Wanaka or the surrounding areas.

Even on a rainy day this place is magic. We ate some great food, went indoor rock climbing and have driven around the lake and town (which is beautiful).

Stayed three days here with friends. The quiet lakeside town of yesteryear has vanished replaced by a bustling tourist town. The local New World has a monopoly on the supermarket trade and is killing it and the visitor experience. Finding a park at lunchtime is as rare as gold in the hills. Will visit my friends again but sad to see Wanaka turned into a cash cow.
