It's slightly outdated, but it is clean, quiet, well positioned in the heart of town. The top floors accommodates 3 people per room, and have the views. The lower floor up to 4 people. You can make coffee / tea. We were told it was a "3 Star" Hotel, so were not expecting the trimmings you would expect to pay for at the more expensive accommodations. But for our family of 4 having travelled for 3 weeks, for $89 for the night, it served our needs.

Room Tip: If you have no more than 3 in your travelling party, ask for a room on the top floor.

Clean, fairly spacious and well equipped room and guest kitchen and laundry.

We booked the middle costed room that had a double and bunk beds and balcony (great for afternoon sun). This hotel is in a central location for town and the bottle store next door is very handy for buying sundowners to have on your balcony or on the sunny lawn area to the back of the hotel We used the guest kitchen for our breakfast and it was a great size, well equipped and very clean. There is also plenty of guest parking - if you are lucky you can get a space right at the back door near the guest rooms entrance.

Although the location is very good, it's a place that have seen better days. It's difficult to get to the room from the parking lot (which is at a distance), the rooms are small and very simple, no amenities to be seen, and pricey, even being the better priced place we could book for the only night we stayed there! Lots of people walking the corridors, groups gathered outside and in the bigger rooms, it really looked like a hostel.

The location of this hotel is simply awesome, I had a twin room on the 2nd floor of the hotel with a balcony that overlooked the lake, the view alone was worth the price!

The room was spacious, the bed clean and comfortable and the ensuite was a good size with both a shower and bathtub!

I had turned up with short notice in the height of the ski season and they were more than happy to accomodate. The staff at the hotel are friendly and very helpfull, a huge thanks to Jo for all her recommendations and assistance during my stay.

I would definitely recommend this place to others!

When we arrived here I was developing a cold and we ended up having to stay an extra night. They were so helpful! Called up the hotel we'd booked for that night and cancelled and then charged us the same amount as we would have paid there which happened to be $50 cheaper! It was however much more expensive then most of the places we stayed in while travelling around NZ and not much nicer for what we'd paid. It did have a fantastic view though! And was also only a short walk to shops and restaurants.

Room Tip: You want the second level facing the lake!
