“One of the MUST DO attractions of South Island”
Reviewed February 1, 2013

The Classic Flights "Freedom and Romance of Flight" in the Tiger Moth is unforgettable. We took 3 Moths with three pilots and had the trip of a lifetime.
The flight across Lake Wanaka , the views of the lake, the scenery are unequalled and nearly beyond description. Luncheon and fine wine under the shade of a Tiger Moth wing, in the most remote region cannot be underestimated.
The pilots are stunning, helpful and discrete, after setting out lunch they just vanish to let you enjoy everything around.
The team at Classic Flights are some of the most helpful easygoing professionals in NZ. Nothing is too much trouble

Can't say more Just try it for yourself.

“A small town for short stopver”
Reviewed January 31, 2013

We stayed overnight at Wanaka Town. Reached the town around 4-5pm. The town is not very big and not crowded at all. It's an easy 1-2 hours walk if you would like to explore the town. There is a lake in the town where you can sit and relax the nice view and enjoy the clean air.

There's a decent number of restaurants around the town but you need to be early to have dinner as they closes quite early during winter time including those shops as well.

“Wanaka, the top scenic spot in the South Island.”
Reviewed January 27, 2013

Approaching through the Haast Pass from the North, the wonderful lake views offered firstly by Lake Hawea and then by Lake Wanaka give an indication of the treats in store as you descend into this truly unforgettable scenic masterpiece. Wanaka is stretched out around the edge of the lake and the sparkling blue waters reaching to a background of tall snow capped mountains offer inspiring views from all directions. We hired mountain bikes and enjoyed the leisurely cycle along the flat foreshore before sampling the more athletic demands of the forest bike trail. Five miles later of exhilarating ups and downs along the narrow trail fringed by the lake to the left and forest to the right, we emerged higher up above the town and enjoyed the cooling breeze as we free wheeled back to the flatter shoreline. A great way to see the landscape and enjoy what is in many people's opinion, the most beautiful part of New Zealand, even better than Queenstown!
