“Fantastic - a hidden gem”

We stayed here for 3 nights - 5 adults in a 2 bedroom apartment and this was our favourite place in the south island. So spacious and well equipped - it really has everything you need even a washing machine and dryer! Just around the corner from Wanaka town centre and right overlooking the lake - fantastic views. Great value too!

I have stayed in Panoramic Court six times over the past few years when traveling with friends and it is my favorite place to stay in Wanaka. The main reasons are the great views of the lake and the proximity to the downtown area (less than 5 minutes walk to the shops and restaurants). The furnishings in each of the units is a little different because they are privately owned, but rented out when the owners are not there. All of the unites have a kitchen with an oven, a dish drawer (dishwasher), all the pots, pans and dishes that most people will need including a French press and lots of counter space. Each unit also has a washer and dryer which can be really handy if you are traveling for several weeks.

There is one bedroom with a queen bed and one bedroom with two twin beds. The living room is large and there is a flat screen TV with Sky, a kitchen table and couches. The units on the ground floor can be accessed from the front of the building. The ones on the second floor are accessed from walkways along the back of the building.

If you can, rent unit #1 which is on the second floor and has full views of the lake from the living room and the master bedroom. It is something else to wake up to the sunrise on the mountains across the lake. Definitely worth the extra cost to get this unit as opposed to the other ones.

Overall, a great and reasonably priced place to stay in Wanaka.

We booked this accomodation because it can accomodate all 5 of us.

The place is easy to find, along the road along the lake, near the town centre. When the Jen bought us to the unit at grond floor, we felt that she is quite particular about guest taking care of the furnishing and the unit. We parked our car right in front of the door. a glass sliding door opens up to a big living, dining, and fully-equiped kitchen. There was a set of sofa with a wooden coofee table and one sofa extendable to a bed. A big wooden rectangle dining table sits in the dining area. Jen asked us to make sure that we use the coasters under the pot/bowls.

Kitchen is modern and the stuffs there are pretty new and well maintained. There is microwave, fridge and oven. Of all the accomodation in NZ we stayed, this is the only one which provide a diskwasher! Everything you can think of in a kitchen is in the drawers and cabinets, even user manuals of the equipment.

The bathroom is similarly modern and nice. Wash basin is an avante -garde rectangle with push button. A modern avante-garde shower cubicle. Of our trip, this is the only one which has an overhead heater which blows down hot air, so after showering, you will not feel cold air after you step out of the cubicle. The bathroom is big and even has both a clothe washer and dryer, the only accomodation in our trip which has in within the unit.

There are 2 bedrooms. 1 with a king bed, and the other 2 single beds. Bedrooms are normal and beds are comfortable.

We are not sure what common facilities are there. But from the kitchen I chanced upon another guest collecting her dried clothes from the common drying hangers. There are 2 floors and the unit on top of us was also occupied. Layout seems the same but it also has a balcony. All units has a great view of Lake Wanaka.

The only thing to complain about is we are not able to get out and lock the front glass door. The last person has to lock the front glass door from inside and leave by the kitchen door.

We cooked some food using the oven and washed the dishes using the dish washer. The accomodation do live up to it's claim of sel-fcontained apartment. We stayed only 1 night and will stay here again next time. For NZ165 per night, this is really a hidden gem.
