“Should be better”
Reviewed September 4, 2013 via mobile

I'm not going to say it wasn't fun because it was! Seeing all the toys from my youth and the star wars stuff being my highlights but it is frustrating when something could be so much better than it is!

It is cheap and their is a lot to see so you won't feel ripped off at al but the displays could've be more fun interactive. Example what part of plane would you most like to see? That's right the toilet !?! Why not I dunno the cockpit!

A bit more info maybe put together an audio tour if you don't want to hire actual guides or at least some plaques to say what's here?

Ohh and the dead rabbit at the daggers steps was lovely maybe do a walk around before you open!

“Huge complex, with lots to take in”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

This museum is full of gems: cars, planes, trucks, war vehicles, toys, toys, toys and more toys. Its a huge complex, including the main building, two large hangers and more to see in the grounds. Plan to spend a good 2 hours to see everything, but if you're a toy collector, or car or plane enthusiast, you'll no doubt spend a lot longer. If you are visiting between March and October, take a warm coat - the buildings can be chilly. They have huge Star Wars and Barbie collections, and no doubt you'll find your first car in the large transport collection housed both inside the main building and in the grounds at the back.

“Too much to take in!”
Reviewed August 1, 2013

This could be a fantastic museum if there was a little bit less to look at and the collections were displayed more professionally with some labelling and better lighting, particularly in the toy museum. Everything looked a bit tired and cluttered. Even the toy shop looked neglected with half empty shelves in places. It would be great to see some interactive displays -- to see one of the model train sets working would have been fun for the children. The kids enjoyed riding on the pedal cars outside, a novel experience.
