We went here on the recommendation if a local. Before we went several people "warned" us that the place is a little quirky.

On our night the the food and service were first rate. My partner had home made meatballs with Spaghetti. They were terrific. The portions are VERY generous. I had aubergine stuffed with lamb. This was a lovely surprise. The dish came with mix of salad vegetables. This was wonderful. I heard several other people around me all commenting very favorably about this dish.

The portions are very large, so be careful to ask before you order too much.

Not a romantic getaway, but good food well presented.

Had dinner and dessert here whilst on holiday, after reading the positive reviews on TA. Meals are good, big servings and nice enough, but prices are astronomical. $40 for a pasta dish, and $40 for pork sausages is at the top end of any reasonable prices, even when compared to Queenstown. The food was nice, but not what I would call gourmet. Atmosphere is good, and wine list is also comprehensive, but we have dined at hatted restaurants in Europe, NZ and Australia for cheaper prices.

Fist time eating here and we were enticed by the reviews, and the fact they stock our wine. The building is interesting but falling apart and I am glad others commented on the spider webs first.
It was cold but no one noticed later on after a few wines.
However the food is unique ,all appetisers are bruschetta with different toppings at $13.Mains mostly $40.The lamb in eggplant was great. Very large steaks !
The waitress had a great personality but leaving for Canada this week.
A bit different ... but good food

Art Deco, nice fire place, nice atmosphere great food. Very limited wine by the glass.

Mains (great size) $35-40

Wine (bottle) $60-140

Well worth a look even if only for a drink. Our dinner was great and we are foodies. Wine is priced on the high side for what you get, but food is a steal.

Arrived early evening and the Restaurant was a bit cold. Food was excellent and enjoyed by all.
Wine a bit on the expensive side.
Could do with a good clean. Spider webs very noticeable. Overall good but in need of a "tuneup".
