If you’re lucky enough to be in a position to book this wonderful location - go for it!
We were idling our way around NZ and needing a place to stay and this proposition peaked our interest.
The experience was wonderful. The yurt has a beautiful vibe to it. Perfectly positioned on the property, giving expansive views of the valley, mountains and lake in the distance.
Having stayed only 1 night, it instantly felt cozy and welcoming. Well heated, comfy bedding and a range of lighting options (we opted for the beautiful kerosene lamps). The roof centerpiece is a clear dome, allowing for star gazing from the comfort of under the covers.
Wondering around the property’s was blissful. There are other cabins available when the space hosts various retreats.
A small apple orchard and we got to pick our own delicious apples. Fresh hot baked bread for breakfast was included!!
An unexpected delight was the beautiful Steinway grand piano in the shed next to the house. An impromptu concert from our host was awesome.
But the real highlight were our hosts. Beautiful people, Randall and Amanda are creating an amazing space for all types of retreats plus their TripAdvisor guests.
We can certainly see this place being a destination in its own right for our travel plans in future.
Fantastic property in the Hawea flats. Hidden away, but still very close to Wanaka. Amazing views and accommodation to experience on our trip. Would recommend this to anyone.
Staying in a yurt entirely surrounded by spectacular mountains views from every direction was a wonderful experience. The interior decor is beautifully done and the skylight looking at the stars at night was a highlight. Our hosts were fun and interesting to talk to and we appreciated the thoughtful touches like flowers in the yurt.
Great local info & charming hosts. Fresh home baked bread brought to the door - lilt of Beethoven in the background - stunning!
