“Lime Tree Perfect To A Tee!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 19, 2010

We're NOT big fans of small inns. We usually stay in larger luxury chain hotels (Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton, etc.). But since those don't exist in Wanaka, NZ, we booked the Lime Tree Lodge fearing that it would be just "okay." Well, our experience at Lime Tree was MUCH MORE than just okay! It turned out to be a great stay! Our room was very comfortable, clean & quiet (great toiletries too!) with a private walkout patio. The public areas were very nice too. The snacks, and food were all homemade and delicious. We're still thinking about the "killer breakfast" we ate there. We've never written a "review" before about our lodging experiences over the years. But we felt that our stay at Lime Tree Lodge was so good, that we needed to share our thoughts with others. If you are in the Wanaka area this is THE place to stay- you will not be disappointed.

My wife and I would enthusiastically recommend this Lodge to any of our friends who may be visiting the South island. Rebecca and Sally have put a lot of energy and thought into all aspects of Lime Tree and the and the Lodge is presented to a high standard. We noticed and appreciated all the extra little touches that they attend to.... bed turn down , chocolates, mineral water etc., etc. Wanaka has some really nice restaurants and the ones that Rebecca and Sally booked us into offered good service and fine food.

The Lime Tree Lodge was the best of our 9 night stay throughout New Zealand. It is quiet and cozy with around six rooms but it also has a very spacious feel to it. We stayed in the Linden suite and it was large and luxurious. Great open views of the surrounding mountain tops. Perfect little porch for relaxing with a glass of wine.
Sally and Rebecca are great hosts who don't miss any details. Rebecca cooks to order a wonderful breakfast every morning and the evening snack and drink are great also.
It's a great rural setting and the lodge is only a simple 5 or less, minute drive to down town Wanaka. We will definitely make the Limetree part of our next trip to new Zealand.

We loved it here so much we extended our visit and cancelled the hotel in Queenstown. Rebecca and Sally run a first class Lodge with facilities and service as good as a 5 star hotel but with the advantages of a small lodge in a quiet location.
We had a dinner at the Lodge one evening with another 5 guests and had a great time. The Chef and Host that Sally and Rebecca used were first class and as good a meal as we had on the whole trip.

The two ladies that run this lodge are real professionals.A really beautiful lodge, great attention to detail, always got a smile, lovely pool and gardens. We stayed in the Linden suite, well worth the money. Very highly recommended.

Good at getting a difficult client a good table in the local restaurants ? !!!

From all the lodges we stayed during our trip through New Zealand, the Lime tree lodge was one of the best. Very beautiful room, nice view to the mountain, possible to have contact with the local animals, Rebecca and Sally put their personality very strong in their accomodation, the service they gave made our stay fantastic!
Even breakfast was fantastic, many choises, perfect prepared.

We had a fabulous stay at Limetree Lodge. Our hosts, Rebecca and Sally were wonderfully hospitable and continually strived to make our stay at both the lodge and Wanaka as pleasurable as possible. We had two young children (5&2) with us and they were entertained by feeding the animals every morning and running around in the vast open spaces surrounding the lodge.

The rooms were stylishly appointed and are easily the rival of a good 5 star boutique hotel. Breakfasts were excellent - especially the home made museli! And the views were magnificent.

Our stay here was without flaw and it is a long time since I have thought or written that.

Thank you.
