Warm fire, friendly service and perfect food.
Couldn't fault this restaurant. Everything was well presented and perfectly cooked.
We had the salmon and lamb shanks well why not we are in NZ.

Stopped by for a late lunch between Queenstown & Lake Tekapo. Twizel is an unusual place, but our club sandwich and eggs benedict with 'hot smoked' salmon hit the mark, although this was surprising as normally cold smoked salmon would be used, Cool postcards and nice looking dinner menu - we'd be sure to stop if driving through again.

My mum and I ate dinner here on a recent visit to Twizel. As we are both small eaters we ordered starters, which were very adequate for us. I enjoyed my beer battered prawns, nice crispy crust and not overcooked. I ordered a salad on the side and it was very good too. My mum had soup and enjoyed her selection as well. The place was not that easy to find as the sign is not well lit, we just took a chance when we saw some cars parked outside of it. It was worth the chance as the food was good.

Felt more like a Bistro than a cafe but we really like the informality of the cafe. Good menu choices with excellent home made food and good service. We had the homemade venison pie which was excellent and there was a good selection of wine and beer. Located within walking distance of accommodation so could enjoy the amazing night sky on the walk back to our accommodation.
