I travelled with my husband and 4 year old daughter to celebrate our 10th anniversary. Overall it was a great experience, the resort is lovely with very friendly and welcoming staff, our lagoon view room was good, very clean and spacious though i would suggest if you are after quite time book a ocean view room.
we pre purchased meal vouchers (30FJD for lunch & 60FJD for dinner p/p) which we felt was not worth it. for our lunches we did not use the full amount which was a waste but at dinners we ended up with paying more than the voucher. At check out we paid around 100FJD for meals and drinks.
the resort offers good activites and its reasonably priced. we went on a caneoing tour, enjoyed banana boat ride, did parasailing though missed out on snorkeling and scuba diving due to weather conditions.
the kids club is fantastic we had a look around but my daughter decided to play on the beach instead.
the only down side was the house keeping service, the toileries and bottled water were never stocked and after requestingover the phone we had to wait for couple of hours before it was delivered to our room. I had to wait for 2 days to get my laundry bag to be picked which at the end I had to leave at the reception.
Also the dinner and dance show at the resort was fantastic though book the table in the front row (shared seating).
To sum it up it was a wonderful holiday with lots of sweet memories we bought back to Australia.

We went for a wedding and it was definitely a good place for young families but not ideal for single people or if you want to have time away from children. Through word of mouth from other guests and our own experience the check in time is always late so its better to arrive late in the afternoon.

We stayed at the resort as part of a wedding group. Staff were welcoming and very obliging. Rooms and facilities were first rate and there were plenty of activities on the resort grounds for a wonderful holiday. The variety of dining venues made for a wide choice of meal opportunities.

This is our second visit to the hotel and the second wedding we have attended here. While I can't comment on what it is like to have your wedding here (as we were not the ones arranging things!), I will review what it is like to stay at the hotel! This is a popular hotel along the Coral coast as. It is the largest and offers the most facilities: day spa, 7 restaurants, 3 pools (including 1 adults pool), kids club, lagoon and beach with snorkeling and lots of water activities.
For this reason, it is also popular with families and we have met any people staying here with, not only with their kids, and also grandparents and extended families. So, if you are looking for a quiet, secluded, romantic adults resort, this is not your place! Castaway island or some of the resorts off Nadi may suit you better.
Transfers - do NOT get the transfer bus that stops at every hotel! It may be cheap but it could take 2-2.5 hrs. A better option is to arrange a private transfer through the hotel for $126FD. Your driver will meet you at the airport and, 55mins later, you will be at the hotel.
Meals - the complimentary buffet breakfast offers a wide choice of hot and cold items.. There are several lunch and dinner options including buffet dinners in Tekali Terrace, pizza or fine dining and the food is really good, even room service for those days when you just have had too much snoozing by the pool. We were there during school holidays and you might find making dinner reservations saves you a lot of waiting. I can also recommend local restaurant Tomlu's - delicious seafood, Indian and Chinese meals! A 5 min cab ride from the hotel.
Rooms - people in our group had booked several different types of room category - from Lagoon view up to Ocean View. My advice would be to spend the extra for the Ocean View which tend to be larger and more comfy. They are also in the blocks away from the busy Lagoon area and are a little more quiet. You also have the option of staying in the Ocean Bures which are a 10min walk away from the main resort. These are gorgeous and only 6 years old. You can also have spa treatments and massages in your bure and use of a golf buggy to run around the resort. We would definitely chose this accommodation option next time.
Day Spa - what a lovely addition to the resort! The staff are attentive and skilled and the relaxation lounge is a lovely place to start your spa experience. The sugar scrub and traditional BoBo massage were wonderful.
Wedding - we attended a wedding on the chapel which was just a postcard! The reception was on the lawn next to the chapel and it was a delight to be able to have a sit down reception outside.

So, while there are more modern and glamourous resorts, this is a great all-rounder that won't break the budget while enjoying the warm sun and warm hospitality offered by the friendly staff.

Room Tip: Consider the Ocean View rooms or, as a splurge, Ocean Bure!

First trip to Fiji with 2 children under 5 and our mothers. We wanted to relax, be a little pampered and be in a place where our little children could easily make friends and enjoy their stay.

We did have lovely time on this trip and we thought the location was just so special - but there are some things that were disappointing;

Room: we were initially booked into a room near the main big pool. The room was so wet with condensation that the walls dripped with water, the mirrors were foggy, and floor remained wet. Initially we were told that it would get better but it didn't. Our toddler kept slipping and the smell was just too damp. So we asked to move. They were going to offer us a room in the same wing but I think they realised it would be the same. After speaking with one of the staff we think there is some serious issue with the air conditioning and design of this block. Don't believe that it is just Fiji climate.

We were upgraded, and moved around to the sea view area and this room was just wonderful. It was a real 5 star room with new furnishings and the view from the little balcony over the coral and sea was stunning. No condensation here. A bit of a walk to the main pool but so worth it.

Low vacancy: the place is a huge resort with many restaurants and facilities - but it felt a bit dead and empty. The main restaurant was closed. Some afternoons we had the pool to ourselves and found it hard to find another kid. The advantage is we ended up knowing all the children there by first name and being friendly with their parents. This also had an impact on resort events. Our mums went to the disco one night but there were only a handful of guests. A group of us guests decided to support Marley who does the bingo and we had a great child friendly evening playing bingo and watching crabs race.

Kids club: I am sure that there are some flasher kids club but the program was just great here. The women/staff were very warm and easy going. There was a good balance of cultural experiences as well as traditional children's games. Our son loved it and wanted to keep going but there was only 2 other children the first morning and when he was the only on another day we decided to keep him with us. It would have been great if the place had more children.

Restaurants: the main restaurant served breakfast and that was great buffet and other meals during the day. We went to the Bar and Grill for lunch one day and it was very ordinary fried fast style food. But the place is completely different at night. We went to the seafood night - fresh local seafood, generous and tasty flavours. We also went to the Italian place and that was just lovely too. It overlooks the water, few diners again but lovely.

Room service: room service was good- they make an ok pizza and that's a cheap dinner option.

Meal plan: we read all the reviews and heard the advice of our travel agent and decided to the get the meal plan. It's silly and not worth it. It's not like a voucher system where you are then entitled to every meal. It really is just a credit system where you have pre purchased so many meals to a certain amount. It's the crisco meal option really. Many nights we did not reach the amount we pre paid. Drinks are extra and children do not ' eat free' in all restaurants or for room service. So save money and decide what you eat then and pay then. We ended up paying more at checkout for our choices ( ie the meal plan is $85 Fiji dollars per adult - our meals at the Italian for all 4 (2 children) was more like $ 120 total including sweets - but we paid more at checkout as our children's meal were not included. So we would have saved had we paid there).

Tours: we took our son on a canoeing tour. That was great. Many other guests also enjoyed the tours - but again expect to be the only one or just a few in your party.

Location: totally stunning place in between the ocean and lake, full of tropical coral and fish and birds. It is too far to walk anywhere so you are likely to spend all your time there unless you book yourself a tour or a taxi out.

doctor: having a doctor on site is a great advantage of a big resort. Our baby developed a bad cold and it was great to see the doctor in house. We didn't take travel insurance but it was $50 and worth the piece of mind.

gym & golf: we did not use these but had a look - the gym is in a traditional Fiji style building overlooking the water. Te golf course also had beautiful views.

Some other things we found funny : there is no room service by the pool. We had read other reviews and also chose to bring our own children's snack. We had muesli bars handy for children after a swim. Also expect that 99% of guests are Australian. The Fijian people are warm and genuinely lovely.

Overall we made good holiday friends maybe due to the small guest numbers, enjoyed the location and quality time with our children and mothers.

The renovations need not be an issue as the place is huge. Management just need to manage this is sections and ensure they are competitive and have higher vacancy rates. We would come back here but would need to check vacancy rates.

Room Tip: Go for the seaside rooms - see details above about problems with rooms near the main pool and curren...

The resort is in desperate need of a revamp. Our room was dated but in saying that it was very roomy for us. No such thing as a cold beverage. The staff were friendly and helpful especially the lagoon pool staff. The food was average and could do with more of a variety. The beach was great for the kids and they loved the snorkeling. We hired bikes and rode around the resort, we went for on the Banana Boat and parasailing which was Lots of fun. Even though ours kids did not attend the kids club it appeared that the other kids were having a lot of fun. There was plenty of activities to do around the resort eg crab races, grass skirt making, touch footy, cricket, clay modeling etc.

We stayed here for a few weeks after Christmas. We received delicious juice on arrival and when we arrived in our room (we had received adjoining rooms as requested) and they were clean. The location is amazing right on the crystal clear beach. We had a stunning ocean view. The cleaner were fantastic leaving towels and sarongs in different shapes. They even made us hearts out of necklaces! The meal stores were all yummy. We loved the buffet and the beachside eateries. Those were our fav! The staff were amazing all so friendly. We became great friends with some staff members at the eateries and staff running the poolside games were fantastic and made our stay much more enjoyable. This place is true paradise. Unfortunately they had a vomit bug (I believe in the pool) going rapidly through families during our stay so that dampened a few days of our holiday but what can you do... I will be back in a heartbeat! True island paradise!
