We traveled with a 31/2 year old and a 17 month old and were after a holiday where we had the freedom to relax and add in some adventure with much sun. The Radisson is a fantastic hotel. From arrival and warm welcome, to whisking away the kids for cuddles and a personal tour to our room and overview of the resort.
The staff are amazing, they truly are. From Talica who cleaned our room daily, she was a delight and the room was spotless every day. We had a 1 bedroom suite garden courtyard room so we didnt have to climb any stairs and the boys could run around the grass area.
Our baby sitter Joanna was a dream. We booked her for 3 hours each day either in the afternoon or night so my husband and I could have some downtime. Joanna was all smiles, amazing with the kids and I was so confident in her, she made our holiday care free. I highly recommend booking her.
Roko in reception was so friendly and always chatting and holding the kids. The activities staff were above and beyond, I cant describe how good they are with the kids and even with the adults, getting everyone who is in the pool involved in water aerobics, waterpolo and volleyball. They are loud and charismatic and they remember all the kids names and have a nickname for all the kids, making them feel like they are part of the Fijian family. Bill 'banana' and Elmo, Harry and Simon were all amazing.
We spent most of our time in the pools and waterslide and enjoyed the night fire dancing and frog racing and we were blown away by the money raised through things like frog racing and duck derby to support the local schools. we went on the school tour and got to see the computer labs and new library that has opened due to the money raised from guest at the resort.
The restaurants are varied. I love my food so was a little disappointed with the Blu restaurant buffets and especially the breakfast, but I am sure it really is fine and I am being picky :)
Its a great resort to meet other families, swim, relax and happy hour at the swim up bar daily was a buzz. We loved listening to the Fijians sing and play their guitars.
The bottleshop/deli onsite was actually quite good and there is a bigger one next door at the Wyndham.
We were surprised by the Bula bus fee of $8pp but we ended up taking the local bus for $1 which stops out front of the hotel.
My only negative comment would be that it does lack in culture. If your after a Fijian experience then you wouldnt get that at the Radisson.
