“What great people”
Reviewed March 6, 2013 via mobile

We were upgraded to a suite due to part of the hotel being renovated. The room was very spacious, clean and organized. The hotel is well maintained.

The real draw for this hotel are the people. They are as nice a group of people as you would want to meet. We went down to dinner without reservations, and there were no seats. We decided to take our meals to go when a table opened up. The manager came right to us to be seated, something he did not have to do..

The only suggestion is that the grill/BBQ is right in the middle of the restaurant. And the smoke from cooking is over powering.

Try this hotel if in Fiji. You won't be disappointed.

We recently stayed here again with our teenage children as we really enjoyed our first visit, we were a little disappointed as we had a number of problems right from checking in, one of the rooms we booked was not what we got, hence we had to complain, then was told they really did not have the lagoon view room available, well you should not accept bookings if you cannot deliver what is booked, there was a hole above the shower in one room and the gib was falling down in the bathroom, the second room had a bathroom door that once closed could not be opened, so we had to make sure someone was around to open it if required, it was not practical to have to phone reception from the phone in the bathroom when you got stuck in there, we reported this to reception but nothing seemed to happen about it, the fridge still had food and drink in it from the previous people, one we advised reception they did send someone to empty and clean it out, plus we had no towels. These things should be checked before new guests arrive. We did find the staff that service the rooms and look after the gardens really friendly and helpful, but the reception staff seemed to make us feel more of a nuisance than enything else, i just feel that when you look forward to a trip and have taken the time to choose the resort and the room type that you should expect something pretty good for a 5 star resort, unfortunately we also had a problem on check out, being charged for breakfast that was clearly included and written on the vouchers that we gave them on check-in, however they still argued the point with us, it did get sorted out in the end, mainly due to our airport transport waiting for us for 20minutes while we waiting for them to sort it out. these things should not happen, we were advised to contact our travel agent when we returned home to sort it out. I am not sure that the problem was hers.
We did have an enjoyable stay in fiji, very relaxing but marred by these problems.
Having said all that, it is a lovely spot and offers lovely pools, bars, services and a great safe environment for families with children, the children we saw seemed to be enjoying the kids club, the Fijians really love children and it shows in how they care for them.

We love Fiji and travel there often, but maybe will try another resort next time.

Room Tip: If you choose a classic room, they tend to face out over the road, this is a 3 storey resort, if y...

Greetings from Fiji athenry22

I would like to thank you for your comprehensive review of our resort and your experience with us.

It was lovely to read that you enjoyed our pools, bars and other services but I was also disappointed that your stay was marred by some operational issues. I would like to apologise on behalf of our team for problems experienced on check in and check out, as well as room maintenance issues. Rest assured, we discuss comments such as yours and use your feedback to improve our operational standards. Our Front Office Manager has taken particular note of your comments.

We would love to have another opportunity to show that your third visit could be as enjoyable ad your first.

In the meantime, Kind Regards

We recently stayed at the Radisson Blu for 5 nights with our 4 month old baby - and it was a great trip. We were absolutely blown away by the Fijian hospitality and customer service at this resort. Everyone that we dealt with was genuinely lovely and showed excellent customer service skills.

We stayed in a Lagoon One bedroom suite and the room was a decent size for the three of us. Also the aircon works great (i have stayed in some places where the air cannot cope with the heat). The only thing is that our room was within very close proximity to the Blu restaurant and we could hear music till about 10pm at night. Depending on how your baby sleeps this could affect which room you choose to stay in. We also noticed that there were cockroaches in the bathroom and kitchen. I maybe saw about 10 the whole time we were there.

The pools are great! The fact that you have so many different pools to choose from shows that they cater to children of every age. The adult pool is good as well, however weird that they have the bar in the middle of the family pool and not the adult pool. Also they needed to put more staff behind the bar. There was only one bar man making drinks and the other employee processed the orders. They also have two spas located in the adult area. All were very clean.

The premises themselves were very neat and well maintained. and the gardens were well taken care of.

We ate at three places here. Neptunes which was the fish and chip shop was great and you could even order room service or takeaway. However beware of the calamari which tended to be underdone. The cafe at the front entrance of the resort was great for a coffee and a pastrie. The Blu restaurant buffets were very average. The menu at Blu was not very extensive and the same can be said for their dine in menu. We found that there was not enough seating at Blu if it was raining (and it rained for half of the nights that we were there).

We would recommend this place for families and would stay here again.

Thanks for your comprehensive review of our property - it was heartening to read that you had such an enjoyable stay and would recommend it to other travellers.

You obviously had an opportunity to enjoy much of what we have to offer which was complemented by our friendly staff. I have taken note of your highlighted areas of weakness, which I will discuss with my team, and use to further improve our guest experience.

We would love to welcome you back in the future to enjoy our beautiful resort in full sunshine!

I stayed here for 1 day as a part of business trip. The hotel looked pretty nice and clean on surface, until I discovered that my room was totally infested with cockroaches!...bathroom, desk, everywhere! Not something one expects from a 5-star place claiming 100% guest satisfaction. In general, I would recommend to stay away from Denarau if you can.

Room Tip: Stay away from it!

Dear Alex_dcunited

I was very concerned to read your recent comments regarding your stay at Radisson Blu Fiji. I would like to send my apologies regarding the discovery of pests in your room. Please rest assured that we have a very stringent Pest Eradication programme in place at this resort and am surprised that you experienced this unfortunate situation. Fiji is a tropical country and we do sometimes have a natural problem with unwelcome visitors - we have an on site pest control company who will be informed. I am unsure if you contacted our management team to notify them as we would have relocated you to another room immediately.

Kind Regards

We stayed here in September 2012 for 5 nights and it was not enough! The room was good, staff friendly and helpful. The fish n chip shop on the waterfront has the best fish n chips iv ever had and the portions are huge. Adults only poo was good and had 2 spas. Service next to the pool was great, you didn't even need to move to order another drink. There was nothing bad about our stay at the Radisson. However next time we go back I would book a room with a kitchen as we didn't have one and couldn't mix our own drinks and nibbles without one.

Room Tip: Get a room with a kitchen.

from my arrival till the time I departed this hotel/resort, we had a fabulous time! the staff at the Radisson Blu go above their duty to make your stay very pleasant, and that farewell song they sang on the morning we were leaving was awesome! the pools are great, baby, kids, family even an adults only pool, most of our time was in the family pool, especially since the swim up bar was there, there's also a slide into the pool, the kids & I loved it! the rooms are great, nice, clean & spacious! everything was 100%! we watched the sunrise/sunset from the deck, laying by the pool all day, everyday! one night we had our dinner in the pool which they organise, i recommended it! I recommend this place to everyone, singles, couples, families & retirees! my next visit to Fiji will definitely be spent here!

It was great to read that you enjoyed your stay at Radisson Blu Fiji so much! Thanks for your comments.

It sounds as if you certainly experienced all that our beautiful resort has to offer - including Lomani Wai, our in-pool dining experience. It really is a special evening for guests. Our sunsets can indeed be spectacular, especially with a cocktail in hand and we would love to welcome you back in the future to enjoy our warm Fijian hospitality again!

We took our 2 kids aged 7 & 3. They both had an absolute ball in the pools and love the water slide. Landscaped gardens were amazing!! Choice of restaurants was great but have to book for some of them. Staff were very friendly. Beach was much to be desired as the sand was blackish in colour. Rooms were very clean although ours had a mould smell which probably couldn't be helped with the humidity

It always give me pleasure to read that our little guests have enjoyed themselves so much as this also means that parents have had a chance to relax and unwind!

It sounds as if your family took full advantage of our beautiful pools and waterside - always a huge hit with kids. It was also great to read that you had a chance to dine in some of our different food outlets and appreciate the choice we offer.

We would love to welcome your family back to our little corner of paradise in the future and in the meantime
