Went there for a few days for the tail end of our honeymoon. It was the perfect way to relax and unwind. The staff was very friendly, the views amazing and I can't say enough about the bed!

Altough things at the resort are higher priced, that is to be expected, it is a island resort. The restuarant had excellent food. Try buying drinks at the market pier and bring them back to your room instead of ordering from hotel, much cheaper.

The infiinity pool is amazing, but not very deep.

Plan to go back again

We stayed at the Hilton in February 2007 for what was supposed to be our honeymoon. The day before we left my granfather had been diagnosed with cancer, so I was not in the best of moods. We arrived at reception and they gave us cool washcloths and cold drinks while we checked in, then we were driven to our room in a buggy. We had booked a deluxe room and it was not what I had expected based on the picture on the web site, which suggests there us a plunge pool outside the door. In fact, the ground floor room was quite dark, the only ocean view that could be seen was if you lie on the bed and the lounge room looked out onto a path and a concrete wall, with hotel staff wandering around and smiling and waving every time you went into the lounge room (i wanted some privacy and was in no mood for that). After a walk along the beach, which was pretty much grey sand, I was still upset and wanted to change to the sofitel (which we had seen during our walk), but my husband convinced me to see what we can do about changing rooms. In the end they 'downgraded' us to a standard room which overlooked the pool and the beach and had plenty of light ... much better. The guy that drove us to the room said the place was pretty much deserted because of the coups, so in my opinion it wouldn't have hurt them to upgrade us, it was our honeymoon after all.

We ended up having dinner at the restaurant at the hilton (nuk nuk?) yep, its yuk. It was really difficult to get through the thick skin of the snapper which was very small and undercooked, on the other hand my husband had the mango and chicken fried rice which was very bland but could have fed four people. Breakfast the next morning was not that great either, pretty ordinary coffee, weird coco pops, but the pineapple was nice.

So the next morning I was looking for a calling card to call back to Australia, but the shop at the hilton doesn't sell those and apparently you have to go into nadi to get them. So we went for a swim and then back to the room and I called reception to ask what the rates were to call to Australia - the person who answered didn't know and had to check with their supervisor, and said she would call me back, so I waited about 10 minutes, no call, called reception again, someone else who didn't know and would call me back. By then my husband came back from the pool and I told him I was still waiting for someone to call me back to tell me the rates. He said just call don't worry about it.

spoke to my uncle who told me that my grandfather will only live a few weeks. That was not what we expected and my husband went to reception to organise for us to go home immediately. The people at reception were very helpful in calling the airport etc and once the flights were organized they said we could stay in the room until 2pm when the cab would take us to the airport. so that was nice of them, it was a miserable wait for a couple of hours, sitting on the balcony looking over the pool while it rained.

Then when we went to settle the bill the person at the desk said we had to pay for that night as well as the previous one. When we said the previous person said we could check out at 2, his response was that they could have made us pay for the entire 8 nights that we had booked. The travel insurance covered it anyway, but it didn't leave me with a good impression. So, I won't be going back to the Hilton in fiji, actually it put me off hilton altogether. (PS, I have a great husband :-)

My new husband and I honeymooned at the Hilton for 7 days and we had an amazing experience from start to finish, we were very sad to leave!
After a long flight from the States, we were picked up from the airport in a new 7 series BMW with cold towels and water (F$45, expensive compared to taxis, but totally worth it after the trip). We arrived at the hotel and were pleased to find out that we'd been upgraded to a 1 bedroom villa. After a short golf-cart trip to our room, we were blown away by the room. A large bathroom, well appointed kitchen, 2 plasma TVs, patio with Bar-B-Q, washer/dryer, large comfy bed, complementary champagne... We arrived late in the evening so we pretty much went to sleep after checking out our amenitites and a quick shower. The next day (and several days afterwards) were spent lounging by the pool which is very large (and a little chilly) with lots of lounge chairs and umbrellas. Poolside service brings you all the food and drinks you'd like from extremely friendly staff. The water sports bure is a short walk from the pool. We organized only jetskiing, but you could also rent sailboats and windsurfers, parasailing, etc.
The food at this resort is much discussed on these reviews. Frankly, I thought it was OK, nothing to write home about, but the selection was reasonable if you're open to different types of food, and the quality was good. We ate the breakfast buffet nearly every day and we were stuffed. There's a great selection of breads and sweets, fresh juices, made to order eggs, fruit, etc. We never ate dinner at the restaurant, but we had room service a few times. We had pizza and gelato at the deli a few times whic was a good alternative to the restaurant menu. A great feature of the hotels on this island is the free Bula Bus which takes you to the other resorts. We ate at Radisson and Westin which both had good food.
Hilton had a great travel/activities desk that arranged 2 excursions for us. Both were very good and reasonably priced and the person who arranged them, made sure to tell us exactly what to bring on each trip (beach towels, snacks, change of clothes, etc.).
Overall a really great stay at the resort. We also spent 2 nights at the Sheraton and did not enjoy our stay there nearly as much as Hilton (see my other review). If you're trying to decide which hotel to choose on Denarau Island, you absolutely much choose Hilton!

We stayed at the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort and Spa for 3 nights in a studio deluxe ocean view room. The room was luxurious, but "ocean view" was probably not an apt description. The freedom fridge (10 free drinks per day) was a nice touch and the breakfast was great.

The resort is very large, and our room was up the far end of the complex - this meant a 7-10 minute walk to the pool area, breakfast, reception, etc. The pool area was fantastic, with around 8 separate swimming areas and plenty of sun lounges and day beds.

Other than breakfast, we did not eat at the hotel, preferring to take the shuttle bus or walk the 20 minutes into Denerau Marina. This complex is relatively new and was not fully opened whilst we were there, but does have potential to be a good dining and entertainment precinct.

We had a fabulous ten days at this resort. We arrived in Nadi at about 4am and were taken to the hotel by BMW 7 series Limo transfer which was fantastic having been greeted with cold towels and water. On arrival at the hotel we were shown to our room (we had booked the night before) which was a beachfront one bedroom villa. We went straight to bed and sank into luxurious pillows on a huge comfy super king bed.
The rooms are beautifully appointed with lounge, kitchen area seperated from the bedroom by huge glass sliding doors. The Patio (with BBQ) area looks out to the beach. The bedroom can also be seperated from the bathroom by sliding doors and the bathroom contains a seperate shower, toilet and stand alone bath as well as a washing machine and clothes drier.Flat screen TVs are in the lounge as well as the bedroom as well as DVD and Playstation. The kitchen contains a full size fridge/freezer and dishwasher, microwave and also an expresso machine!
The swimming pools are fantastic and have heaps of sun loungers as well as really funky day beds.
The deli is fabulous with yummy specialty breads, pastries, gelato pizza etc
We will defintely go back there, can't wait to see the resort when stage 2 is finished!

We stayed for a week at the Hilton Resort & Spa in Denerau, Fiji. The hotel is magnificent and definately the premium place to stay in Fiji. Great Fijian service but with a real 'style and chic' to the place.
We stayed in a ground floor 2 bedroom Villa and it was perfect for 2 Adults and 2 children. Great room facilities incl kitchen, laundrey and even a BBQ ! Well spec'd with flat screen 3 x TVs etc and all the 5 star usuals.

They have a kids club which is well run and the children thoroughly enjoyed the new activities and learnings etc

The pool/s are outrageously good with a luxurious feel about it. Only one restaurant :( however is very smart with good menu etc. Also have a little cafe with their own baker that makes brillitant pastries etc.

Overall I would say this is probably the best hotel in Fiji and worth the price for the luxury.

My husband and I stayed at the Hilton Fiji Resort this June for our honeymoon. Overall, it was a wonderful 8 night stay and exceeded our expectations! We are Hilton Diamond members, which gave us some nice perks, like a room upgrade and champagne upon arrival.

Room: We stayed in an ocean-view one bedroom villa, upgraded from a studio. It was nice to be on the ground floor, so we were able to walk right out to the beach/pool from our patio. The room was modern and well-appointed, with new and working appliances in the kitchen and with a washer/dryer. Highlights included the 42 in. plasma, espresso machine, grill, and separate bathtub. Area was very open and inviting, with sliding doors to partition the different rooms.

Housekeeping/service staff: Our room was serviced daily when we were gone in a timely manner. They even washed/unloaded dishes from our dishwasher. Our towels and Fiji water (from our diamond status)were replenished daily, as well. Very good, overall!

Food: The only restaurant at the resort is Nuku, and it's open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as poolside meals and room service. The breakfast buffet was excellent but pricey, (About 20 U.S. dollars per person)--we only went twice during our stay. We usually got breakfast and lunch from the small cafe, Epicier, which served breakfast pastries, fresh fruit, gelato, and sandwiches and salads. For dinner, the restaurant serves a buffet and a la carte. The buffet is a new addition that may be implemented daily, depending on popularity. The buffet was average, but at $45 US dollars, was not a great value--we only had it once. We found the a la carte dinner to have a limited selection and most dishes were over priced. Luckily, there will be more restaurant choices as they complete phases 2 and 3 of the resort in the future. We usually took the Denarau shuttle or walked to the other resorts on the island for dinner. The Sofitel and Westin were great but the Friday night Sheraton buffet was very overpriced and the food quality was poor.

Shopping: The resort had several small boutiques and a general supply store with food, drinks, other sundries, which was very convenient. The shuttle took shoppers to the other resorts--the Sheraton had lots of places to buy souvenirs and was probably the best on the island.

Concierge: Very helpful in booking our excursions. We were shown a variety of things to do and they booked our helicopter tour, white water rafting trip, scuba diving, and island tours for us. All trips picked us up right at the hotel. The booking was very efficient and stress free. All costs were charged to our room.

Pool/Beach: Denarau isn't known for it's beaches, but the resort has a 1km stretch. The resort's 5 pools were wonderful with really comfy beach chairs and lots of umbrellas. Water sports could be booked right on the beach.

Activities: The resort did a good job of providing daily fun activities, like coconut/spear throwing competitions, water aerobics during the day. My husband won a daquiri in the coconut throwing competition! They also have traditional Kava ceremonies throughout the week and a Meke ceremony (traditional dance) every Sat. night. Perfect for pictures!

Overall, it was a wonderful trip and Hilton did an excellent job of making us feel welcome. The staff was very friendly and tried to accommodate us at all times. It was easy to overlook minor problems (food), with the way we were treated and cared for! We would love to go back as soon as we can to see the new phases of the resort.
