Great design of the resort means a very high percentage of the rooms have ocean views and ocean porches or balconies. Some rooms feature their own outdoor cooking grills as well. The downside is the resort is spread out and means a lot of walking if your room is on one end or the other. There are golf cart shuttles available, but they are in high demand and can take a while to respond. If you are on the end, call about five to ten minutes before you need one to cut down on wait times. There are lots of family activities available and live entertainment of some form around the Nuku restaurant in the evening. Unfortunately we had multiple bad experiences with service at Nuku and gave up on it, but the noodle restaurant was good and had much better service. Nice touch of free wifi at the coffee shop and pool/Nuku area. If you order breakfast, get the buffet as ordering ala carte is challenging at best--the staff didn't seem to know what to do if someone didn't want the buffet. If you're going around Denaru Island, everything is within walking distance, although there's a "bula bus" that goes to all the main hotels and you can ride all day for $7. However, if you're just making one trip downtown, it's a lot cheaper to ride the local bus--$1 is all it costs to get downtown. Just check the front of the bus for a yellow placard For where it''s going and you're off, then pay the driver at your destination. The loop around the resorts is a little counter-intuitive, so watch it once to see the pattern...it's mostly a clockwise loop, but not exactly. Also, the little coffee shop has great coffees and nice quiches and frittatas for breakfast if you don't want to spend $40 for the Nuku buffet and surly service. Finally, there is a small general store on site where you can purchase most items, including wine and liquor for the room, although it's definitely cheaper to take the bus and do that downtown. Overall, the staff was doing a great job getting the Reese back together after the cyclone. We loved the rooms and the views, but found the friendliness a bit forced and the service inconsistent as a whole--some really fantastic--but some, like at the Nuku restaurant poor enough to make you want to go elsewhere.

We stayed here for three nights over Christmas, so only about a week after Cyclone Evan had hit. Some damage was evident and we heard stories of a lot of the facilities being affected for a couple of days, but we had no trouble at all. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the restaurants were both very good. I'd recommend the tuna steak at Nuku. The coffee was even pretty good at the cafe. We had a beachfront studio with a beautiful view out over the ocean. But the highlight was the view from in and around the pool, where you could relax with wifi, drinks and food.

Could not have asked for better. And thats immediately after Cyclone TC. Do try a meal Tue or Thurs at the Nuku reaturant on the sea side balcony and listen to a great band, watch the sun set and be lulled by the sea and the palms in an idealic setting. The staff and service were second to none. Not so much "Fiji time either. "Okay prices made us look twice but that was after checking out all hotels on Denarua and at the Port and yet we chose to eat every night at the Nuku Resturant for the good food and ambe and perhaps the best price too. Don't bother saying yes when asked if you want water (you pay for it) take your room supply or beer was cheaper. Adult and kids pools add to the experience. Peaceful if you want it. We loved it.

Room Tip: Ocean Veiw twin /double with breakie - well worth it. Right on the ocean. Umbrella and deck chairs w...

We are coming to the end of a wonderful holiday at the Hilton.
We arrived NYE to a fabulous firework display and wonderful entertainment which far exceeded anything we could have imagined, particularly in light of the fact that Cyclone Evan had just recently blown through!
Our 2 bedroom villa is by far the best resort accommodation ( & we are seasoned resort vacationers) we have stayed at with our 3 children. The washing machine and dryer will definitely ease the burden upon our return home! Spacious, clean and comfortable! Comfy bed and pillows.
The activities for the kids are great with the wonderful activities team running an extensive programme from 10.30am -8.30pm, watermelon smashing, coconut bowling, swimming races.........on and on throughout the day and our 3 year old is so happy to head off to kids club.
This resort is low key elegance, sleek and understated and having visited all the other options on Denaru, we are thanking our lucky stars we chose the Hilton for our first trip to Fiji! Forget those outdated grubby fake rock pool areas with the hideous slides (in our opinion) with every other man and his dog on top of you.
If we have to be critical... the coffee could be improved but now we are being picky. The two restaurants are good, with kids eating for free during specified times if they are with 1 adult who orders from the main menu.
We will be back. Thank you to all the delightful staff, including the fabulous Lani at Nuku.

This is what you expect from a Hilton! they did so much work since the cyclone. It was amazing to see the new growth from the plants around the resort. The staff was beyond friendly and enjoyed their jobs. They went far and away to make your stay enjoyable.
We booked both a scuba trip and jet ski trip and both were managed by professionals. The dive trip was manned by a expert crew and had top notch and SAFE rental gear.
I would go back to this resort in a second
