Sheraton Fiji Resort
Ranked #7 of 8 Hotels in Denarau Island
Reviewed November 27, 2013

We recently returned from 7 nights at the Sheraton booked through My Fiji.
Fiji is a beautiful place and the Fijian people are very friendly.
We found that at Feast Restaurant it was overtaken with Myna Birds trying to get their beaks and feet on whatever they could.,and flying between couples trying to eat.
This is my only gripe.Get Rid of these sneaky filfthy birds,so everyone can relax while enjoying their meals. We did not eat there much as we are not ones for smorgasbords. We found Chime was quite good and we could relax with a few cocktails and listen to the band.Flying fish was good.WE did not get to Port of Call.
WE found that we could utilize 3 resorts as they were all interconnected, the pool at Sheraton Villas was a lot better and quieter,so we ended up there. We also went to the Westin where we dined and enjoyed cocktails and the fire dance on our last night..Overall we were very happy with the Sheraton ,We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday to Denarau and intend to return in the future

We stayed for a week at the Sheraton Resort in Denarau Island in November 2013. When we arrived at reception we were greeted with a friendly smile and a welcoming drink. Our room was a Ocean View Room which was just lovely, bed very comfortable, room very clean and bathroom stunning.
Unfortunately, the air conditioning was extremely noisy and after 4 days of trying to put up with it & not complaining, we finally asked reception if there was anything they could do to fix it.
Reception were very prompt and sent a technician to work on it however it was still really noisy. We were asked if we would like to move rooms and after a couple of hours we were moved to a Ocean Front Room which was just gorgeous. The air con wasn't noisy at all & the room was just divine!

We were given a voucher with 50% off a meal at the Feast Restaurant but we had to use it the night we came in. What was on offer that night was Seafood Buffet. So we went that night, the meal was ok (nothing to write home about though). Normal price for this meal is $99.00 per head Fiji Dollar (which equates to around $64.00 per head AUD) so thank goodness for the voucher.
We found that all the restaurants were very expensive in the resort.

With the Sheraton and Westin being sister properties, you can utilise any of the facilities they both offer... Some days we ate our breakfast at the Sheraton., some days at the Westin... I think the atmosphere at the Sheraton was nicer, however the Westin has a staff member making freshly squeezed juice (what ever you like) and bottled Champaign which was yummy.

I think what really makes this place is the staff... everyone we spoke to were friendly always greeted us with a huge smile.

Thanks Sheraton for a wonderful experience and romantic holiday in Fiji. We will definitely be back.

Room Tip: Try to get a Ocean Front Room if you can, they are beautiful.

We recently returned from 7 nights at the Sheraton booked through my Fiji. We had vouchers for dinner for the 7 nights of our stay, which was a great way to experience all the restaurants available. Our favourites were the steakhouse at westin, flying fish at Sheraton, and our absolute favourite the port of call at Sheraton, which we saved for our last night, what an experience, silver service dining to die for! The breakfasts were also included at Feast at the Sheraton, this was spoiled every day by the birds, flying around the whole area, something should be done as pretty unhygienic, on the first morning we saw them sitting on the pastries! Needless to say we never had any pastries. We didn't use the Sheraton pool at all, way too many kids around, and it wasn't school holidays either. We usually used the wet edge pool at the next resort, which we loved. A slight criticism is people seem to "reserve" the pool loungers with shade, several times we saw loungers with items placed on them, and no one came to use them for hours, this is not fair, and should be discouraged. We loved the chime area at the Sheraton, but this seems to be a kids club, we were there at 10.45 pm and there were still little kids running around, with no parental control, this would not be allowed in Australia, surely there should be a kids free zone at that time of night. We enjoyed the entertainment area at the westin on subsequent nights, where the music was fantastic, and no out of control kids. We had an ocean view room, which was lovely, upstairs room no 1776, it was closest block to the Sheraton villas, so easy to walk to the westin. We used the balcony to dry washing, which was handy, as to use the laundry service would have been very expensive! The day cruise on the Seaspray which was part of our package was a great day, very enjoyable would recommend to anyone. We thought the prices were expensive at the Sheraton, for drinks and extras but as it is Sheraton were expecting it would not be cheap. If we went again would stay at the Westin, as we spent most of our time there anyway. Had a great stay and it was very hard to leave!

Before I start the review on the hotel, I have to say Fiji is beautiful and the Fijian people make this one of the best destinations I have ever been to!!!!!!

Having just returned yesterday from the Sheraton Fiji for 10 days as a family of four (2 children aged 14 & 9), I can definitely say we had a fantastic time, our kids absolutely loved it. The hotel was spotless and situated in an idyllic location, (although don't expect clear water in the sea at Denarau).

The staff at the hotel are soo friendly, helpful and honest as were all the Fijians we met. Having the use of the pools at the other 2 hotels (Sheraton Villas & The Westin) was great. Our son also needed to see a doctor whilst we were there and the service from him and the hotel was excellent, the hotel arranged for the medication to be delivered to us within an hour. Having easy access to the Marina is a definite bonus so try and take advantage of a boat trip to the islands (we used Coral Cats who were amazing).

Our only gripe with the hotel was the over the top prices charged for food and drink, for example a bottle of Corona in the supermarkets is FJD$4 but the hotel charges $16. I know you expect to pay more in a resort but I think 4 times the cost is just a rip off (there is also a 20% Government tax on top of this). An average dinner cost was around $200-300 AUD. Our 9 year old also found the kids meals to be tiny and often we ended up paying for an adult meal so the $5 meal deal for kids didn't work for us) I know the hotel is charging inline with other hotels in the resort but I don't think this is a justification, surely cheaper prices means happier guests who are likely to choose The Sheraton over others??? These prices do make it very hard for a family to stay here, The Restaurant at the Golf Club was the only reasonably priced place to eat and the restaurants at the Marina are a bit cheaper.

We would definitely stay here again but would be a bit wiser where we went to eat and drink.

My partner and I recently stayed at the resort. The view as you walk through reception is amazing and the facilities are fantastic. We got a great deal with Fiji Airways and got golf included. It's a beautiful course and we enjoyed a few games. I must admit I underestimated how expensive food and alcohol costs but then hey, it's the Sheraton. If you go there expecting cheap food and drink you are mistaken, head into the Port and go for the cheaper options like Lulu's or Bonefish. The Bula Bus is great and we used it everyday to go to the Port. We did a fishing charter with PJ's and my partner caught a 3.5 m black marlin. The South Sea Island half day cruise is a great afternoon, highly recommend it for those wanted to relax, snorkel and take in some sun. I must mention how disappointed I was with how rude my fellow Australians are to the staff. It was disgraceful to watch. The Fijians are such lovely people, the farewell song made me cry, it was so beautiful. Thanks for a lovely holiday.

We enjoyed a 6 night My fiji holiday at the Sheraton Fiji Resort In November 2013, would have preferred longer. We've stayed in Fiji quite a few times but had not stayed there before. Having a choice between the facilities of 3 hotels (Sheraton, Sheraton Villas and the Westin) meant that one of the hardest decisions was which pool to go to! They were all good, however the pool in the middle of the Villa's (as opposed to the waterfront one) was the best. The adults only pool at the Sheraton wasn't far behind. Breakfast was delicious with just about a choice of anything, however, the omelettes were special. The seafood buffet at Feast restaurant was a bit ordinary with the prawns and oysters tasting bland (perhaps soaking in water too long). More was expected for the price you paid for this buffet. We started out in an ocean breeze room, however with some noisy inconsiderate adults and their children, and smokers on their balcony not caring where they ashed or threw their butts, led us to complain and management were quick to move us. The South Sea island cruise was an enjoyable day with snorkelling close to shore although the coral is suffering. The bula bus $8 FJ for the day is a good option. You can go shopping to the Port during the day and then go back for dinner at night. The Golf and Racquet club across the road is good for dinner with the pizza being a good dinner choice. Would definitely stay at the Sheraton again.

We enjoyed a 7 night stay at the Sheraton Fiji. The staff and locals are all so friendly and helpful at this resort. We enjoyed days lazing by the pool, watching live music and being able to access the facilities of the two neighbouring resorts (Sheraton villas and the Westin). We found the included breakfast to be better at the Westin than at the Sheratons Feast restaurant (mainly because the Sheraton has no nets to keep out flies and birds).

The room charges can become expensive especially if you are doing most of your dining inside the resort. We had included a meals voucher in our package though so this was no trouble for us.

The resort also has a small adults only pool which is fantastic if you are after some piece and quiet. The pool wait staff are also tremendously attentive.

The resort also has a tours desk. Some of the tours can become expensive. We found most taxi drivers will take you to the same places as the tour companies for more than half the price (as long as it is not an island tour in which case the tour company is your only option).

All up an beautiful relaxing holiday, we will most certainly be returning.

Room Tip: Try requesting a room away from the kids club as it can be quite noisy.
