Storck Cruises Day Cruise
Reviewed June 2, 2013

The day was overcast and dull, lm thinking rotten day to go to a beautiful island. But halfway there (30mins) the crew where singing laughing with all. All my concerns were gone, didn't notice the weather. We laughed & sang so much and the boys sang a great variety of song for all ages. Snorkeling was good and clear the blue star fish were amazing, l also saw a stingray and a stone fish ekkk but very privileged to do so. The glass bottomed boat and fish feeding was fun. (Bar from a very painful women traveler Leki & Tiko handled her very well) I would have thrown her over ha. We had a massage on the beach FANTASTIC the girls were very well trained. We were lucky to have about 20-25 people gave us enough time to do every thing and to get to know the crew and fellow passengers. Food was good to, drink were plentiful. We would dearly like to thank Paul (superman) for his expert organising of his crew and tourist so all had a fabulous time. We also thank Leki, Tiko, Veresi and Sefa great bunch of boys/men. Thankyou thankyou we will be singing your praises for a long time xxx V & J

Superman & his boys really know how to entertain! We had the best time travelling to Savala island with them... Sing-a-longs, BBQ lunch, snorkelling, kayaking, massages... so good! And I also paid a little bit extra & went scuba diving.... Magical!!!

We arrived by Carnival Spirit end March 2013.
We hoped to book the tour privately but Carnival had booked out the boat for the day, so we booked through them on the boat ..it was $10 or $20 more.
Our tenders moored about 10m from the MV Oolala. The boat is probably 1980's & we found it charming in its daggyness!
Paul & his crew were so friendly, welcoming & had a great singsong both on Savala Island and on the way home.
While the tide was out and the weather typically Fijian overcast & even a little rainy but it was still warm & the sea was soooo warm! The island is tiny and can be walked around in about 2 minutes, but there is lots of shelter, lots of food and loadza free booze! We had some Aussie wine & a few Fijian beers. It was so good not to ahve to swipe our cards like we had to every drink on the Carnival!
We REALLY enjoyed our day & found it went way too fast! We followed the snorkel tour & saw some lots of fish and some good coral. We REALLY enjoyed the coconut demonstration & all its uses. Kids seemed to REALLY enjoy the things he made!
Unfortunately the tide was too low for the shark feeding, but all in all we thoroughly enjoyed our experience!
We found Nemo! The blue star fish were unforgettable!
The only bad thing about the whole experience ...getting off the island ...we really didnt want to leave!
Thanks so much guys!

We went on 2 day cruises on our trip - this one had its pros and cons like anything does when it comes to personal taste.
Pros:
Great tour guides - fun, accommodating and entertaining.
Pick up & drop off to and from the resort was free and on time with a spacious bus.
The cruise - lovely weather, great sociable group - it wasn't too far to get bored on the cruise out to the island.
Free alcohol! Wine and beer - we did run out, however that's not the tours fault - we are the alcoholics and they could not have foreseen this! They even went ashore again mid cruise to get us more!
Snorkeling - one stop on a reef for a guided tour - we pretty much just did our own thing as the group was quite large and we couldn't keep up but it was still safe. We then jumped off the boat before we anchored at the island and snorkeled to the beach - pretty fun!
Food - Great BBQ lunch with heaps of filling choices.

Cons:
Maybe that there was too many people on the tour to make it personalised for my liking - they sure did their best to remember our names though - even came around to shake everyone's hand and greet them individually. Nice work Superman!
Sea Lice - we were bitten a bit from the sea lice whilst snorkeling - i got bit quite a lot compared to some others but that's not the tours fault.
Rocks - they were quite slippery when trying to get in and out of the water near the island and I almost slipped over a few times as I am quite clumsy so bring shoes to wear whether they are reef shoes or jandals - just be aware :)

Overall a great time and would definitely recommend them to everyone :D

We did 2 cruises this one and and a South Sea one and I would definately go with the South Sea Island one.
The Good: The crew were lovely and the lunch was great.
The Bad: This island is very exposed and very windly. There is shade but nowhere to escape the wind. The boat is smaller and it took 1hr and 45mins each way. As a result many people were sea sick in the toilet or out the window - not pleasant. If you go with South Sea on a larger boat it is only 30mins each way. The snorkeling gear is old and doesn't have valves. On the glass bottom boat you can only see coral. It is too exposed so no fish. On the South Sea Island Cruise you go in a submarine and we saw many fish, a turtle and starfish. There is also no toilet on the island so you have to get the crew to take you back to the boat to use the toilet.
